With my '99 powerstroke, they talked me in to some Durango A/T's. They are a little harder rubber than their regular A/T's but they made a lot of hwy noise after a little wear. They rode fine, and even balanced well, but I got tired of the noise over the diesel. I would rather hear the turbo.

To those Schwab defenders I say if you like getting inferior tires than stick with them. The hype they sell is great for those women that will belive the crap they try to get away with. The truth is they tried to give me the line that they do not ever have a bad tire. That is bull plain and simple. All stores that I delt with in Salem were company stores. I am not a tire tech but know enough to be able to build almost anything automotive related from the ground up. When you can see an obvious bulge in a side wall of a tire the second day of driving it the tire has a problem. They think the public are stupid and if they loose one or two customers that know better oh well. They get a thousand or so new suckers in a few days or so. How many of you have really seen their employees run out to you when you pull up to a Schwab store? I have yet to see it. This should be the first clue that they are selling hype. I find that when corporations get too big you loose the personal touch and get the run around instead of backing up products.

I have never had anything but great service from Schwab's in the past, and yes, I have had them meet me at my truck before I got out. That said, I went with Dunlops for my latest set of tires. The Wild Country RVT wore out very fast (2 sets at about 30K each). I had a nother Dodge Cummins owner recommend the Dunlops, so I figured I'd give them a try.

BScott, I would have to disagree with you. I think Les Schwab is a very customer service store, at least here. I think they have good tires for those wanting that service and are OK with almost any tire. I just need more than they have to offer. They always rotate for free, fix flats for free, free brake inspections, etc. Try running a business like that with payroll. It's nice to see them do it. (Just my . 02);)

A friend bought some of their tires and had reasonably good luck until he went on vacation. While on vacation, he had one of the tires fail, and of course, he happened to be in a state that had no Les Schwab stores. He had to replace it on his own, since he couldn't find anyone who would stand behind their warranty. When he returned home, he attempted to get one of the Les Schwab stroes to stand behind the failure. They were wiling to replace the tire, however they would not give him a refund for the tire he had to purchase. He really didn't need another tire, so... ... .

Guess that if you don't leave the states that have Les Schwab stores, you will be okay. If you travel to states that don't have their stores, and have a problem, it will be YOUR problem :-(

Yep that's what I posted earlier. The Auburn (corporate) store gladly took my money for mounting, balancing, and siping tires. Go to collect on the warranty from out of state and I definitely got the beef or more specifically the output of the steer. Luckily this was on a higher quality Goodyear tires than their store brands. I've been able to get a reasonable carcass life by rotating and counter rotating the tires.

I feel a lot of the ethics that created the business go down the flusher when the original owner sells out and only lends name and/or face for advertising.

Does a local NW radiator shop shop come to mind?
