Has anyone tried the shocks available from Les Scwab? They currently have a buy 3 get 1 free offer. Of the shocks on sale one is a monotube gas filled shock. All four come to a total of $179. It's the RMX Gas Shock. Thanks. .

wcjp,

I have a set on mine. They work great except when they first installed them. I have a 2" lift all the way around & they got the right ones for the front but not for the rear. Well you can guess what happened, yep they got to replace them. But seriously, they took most of the rear hopping out when I pull my trailer.

I have had their RMX's on the front of my truck for about 5 months and have been more than happy with them. Anything to get rid of those POS OEM shocks. Have not changed the rear shocks yet

I had them for awhile. They are A LOT better then stock shocks, I recently went to Rancho 9000's and they are A LOT better then the schwab shocks. So it depens how much you want out of your shocks. You will pay almost double for the 9000's. Rancho has 5000's too that are good.

Does Les offer a lifetime warranty with these? A buddy had a full set installed at Midas for about the same price with a lifetime warranty. He's happy with them.

Ignore if they aren't installing;

Even though I use Les all the time one thing I've learned is to watch them well when they work, their employee turnover is high, you might get a kid fresh out of high school working on your pride and joy. Just this week while picking up a flat repaired tractor tire, which they failed to replace the 300 lb calcium ballast it had when brought in, I watched a kid full blast impact wrench down the lug nuts in a circle pattern all the way around a Ram. I asked if he ever used a torque wrench, he said it wasn't necessary. :rolleyes:

Yes the ones I had were liftime warranty. Which I had to replace 2 of them for blowing them out. So watch that.

illflem;

I don't get it. You blast Les Schwab for the idiot workers and then still use them again and again and again.

All;

After the poor job the idiots at the Auburn, WA store did siping my tires and then the blow off by the store manager, I will NEVER recommend Les Schwab for ANY product or service.

John, I don't have much choice, they're the only tire shop for fifty miles. When they came into town everyone else went out of business. They do let me hang out in the service bay and watch step by step if I have the time. Sort of blew me away on the tractor ballast thing though, the same guy who unloaded the tire with a forklift tried to load it up after the repair by hand. :confused:

I use Les Schwab because of the good service. It doesn't matter which state I'm in or what store. There is an occasional new hire I've run into. The other nice thing with Les Schwab is they're everywhere. If I do have a warranty issue I know it's not far to the next store.

Bill;

I feel for you. You're stuck in the playing Russian Roulette with a semi-automatic handgun mode.

I've had my problems with one of the local tire shops and this guy has been in the business a long time. Luckily I have a choice of other shops.

PS I would conveniently forget the calcium, too. Royal PIA!
