Eliminatnig some of the restriction associated with the stock fuel tank module is a great idea, but be aware that although it is not technically difficult to drop the fuel tank, some small pesky things can get in the way such as gettign the forward strap off so that the tank drops cleanly, etc. It is not an insignificant job and you should allow a full day for it, just in case. Heck, if I did it a 2nd time, it would probably take me half the time, but I am an engineer and try to work by the "measure twice and cut once" philosophy, so it took me a while to get it done.
I installed the FASS High Performance Fuel Pump (HPFP) at the same time as the draw straw, so cannot comment on individual advantage(s) of each, but there is a remarkable improvement in fuel pressure since I have done the work.
