Here's a snow cover map of the United States, showing locations with 2" or more of snow on the ground, as of 7am February 14th. See if you can spot any states without snow, I think I see a little blue in the Florida panhandle :-laf

As of February 12th 67. 1% of the US (7. 03 million square mi) had snow cover, at an average depth 8". Typically the US has 40-50% snow cover in mid February. The highest coverage recorded for February is 7. 31M sq/mi in February 1978.

Global warming. I believe it is now a problem with, what is it, Co2?

My lawn tractor is under a major rebuild this winter, thus I cannot utalize my front mounted PTO driven snow thrower. I have plenty of snow on the ground and been getting a good work-out this winter in Northern Ohio.

Now if ONLY it would snow in the PNW. I am a avid snowmobilier and let me tell ya, we have very little snow around these parts this year. What snow we do have is worthless for a good ride. Darn midwest is stealing it all!!!!

Even that map is a stretch. It shows NW Connecticut having 4 to 8 on the ground... I barely have 2 where there is snow. More than half of my yard has no snow cover.

(Not that I'm complaining)

We broke a record here for the most snow fall in a 24 hour period. Last Thursday morning at 3 am it started and did not let up until Friday around 6 am. Most places here got a foot or more of course it was the wet heavy stuff. There were quite a few folks without power some are still waiting for it to turn back on. Very unusual for us down here.
