Edge Comp to Drag??

Hello all. I'm a newbie to the site, but i'd like to share some disparaging words about my '02 4x4 6spd. I bought it w/ the extended warranty, thinking "gee this was a waste of my money, the truck being heavy duty and all. " Man, ignorance is bliss! Don't get me wrong, I love my truck(not in "that" way!) but the last bout was with the nv5600. I get new syncs and 3&4 gears, along w/ new nuts. Yup. Nuts. If I didn't have the warranty, my wife would have mine. ; ;) ) I got a new inj. pump 35k ago, a new lp @ the same time. Other items: wiper motor, ball joints, power dist. box, a/c condenser, other various a/c componets, a new grill, headlights, and bumper(the dealer it off the jacks while he bleeding the new STEERING BOX!) The list goes on, but I don't want to sound mad. I plan to keep the rig for a long time. :) I bought it in Oct. 01 brand new, and only have 98K on it now. Is this a trend y"all are having too? And if so, thoughts on trying to prevent problems beside normal maint? Thanks in advance! Geoff

what's a warranty? That must be one of those new fangled options on the 24v.

It's that crazy thing thats keeping me out of the "doghouse " w/ my wife :) Well, :-laf untill I start bombing!

geez man sounds like bad luck maybe u got a lemon. we have a 94 12v yes there is arguments that say the p pump trucks are better(i agree but won't argue) but alot of whats been replaced is what was used on both rigs and we haven't had near that many problems. in fact i don't know if we've had any except the bad pump we had.

i think its a lemon just my . 02

man, what a track record! I haven't been to the dealer for repair yet! maybe because there aren't many stock parts left, maybe I just got lucky. Fingers crossed. Any wise words about the 5600? suspected cause of trouble? I only have 53k on my early 01, maybe I just have more to look forward to!

Sounds to me like that truck was flooded (under water) at sometime in it's life. That many things wrong in that many miles is not right.

Ordered truck and took delivery 8/15/01 - the truck has never been back to the dealer for anything. The only DC-related part I've replaced is a bad back-up light switch. Your experience compared to mine is one of those things that make you go hmmmmmm, I guess.

46K on mine and couldn't be happier (dealer never touched it either - maybe that has something to do with it!)

Beast, all I've done is routine maint. and highway driving. I gotta agree ... I got a lemon :( but it's a big lemon and a heck of a lot of fun to drive ;) ) I'm sold on preventitive maint. and these guys around here preach about the oil in the nv5600. They all got there preferences. The 5600 is tough. I think I got the truck they built after a long nite of drinking! :-laf
