Fellas, My cheep offraod lights are starting to look pretty nasty and I need a new set, I was wondering if you guys had any recomendations and could tell me the best place to buy them because no one around here carries any that are worth a damn.

I would prefer to have some long range lights and would like them to have chrome or StainlessSteel housings.

Thanks

Big D

My preference is KC Lights.

My last set I picked up online at Quadratec

Good prices, and fast service. :)

Oh, by the way, if you purchase the KC Light "kit" it comes with the wire, switch, relay, and light covers.

I decided to get serious with my off-road/driving lights, having been frustrated with weak 100w driving lights in the past. I looked through past threads here, and went with the aircraft landing light solution. These bulbs fit into the KC 6" housings, although I went with el-cheapo SS housings from JC Whitney. Total cost was under $150, including the relays and wiring.

They run 250w each, which draws 20amps for each bulb. Which means you'll need large gauge wires and relays from the battery to the bulbs. But, when you decide you need a little light on the situation, there's no mistaking these lights for wimpy headlights. They really light up the road (and objects) well before you get there.

Caveat: these are not really suitable for on-road driving, unless you're really in the sticks. They will cause other drivers serious problems, if they come into the light beam at close distance. They will also cause light envy among the Jeep drivers you meet off-roading.
