hey for what it is worth I enjoy the Other thread as well. good laughs, good people. I enjoy Doc’s post and even Whitmore’s marathon posting day. Beside it is just too much work to go to the chebby sites for laughs. If I don’t like a thread I just look for the back button.

I would make it no problem but the wife I'm not so sure about :)

Gitch is a dead man, LOL, Gitch=No Chance :p

the guy sitting on the pot is an excellent example of "potty mentality" that has NO appropriate purpose in this thread, and which I inadvertantly tripped over as I was reading OTHER less offensive stuff - what if my 9 year-old grandaughter was looking over my shoulder at the time - is THAT the sort of stuff I want her to think grandad spends his time looking at on the internet?

I'm really NOT a prude -

Gary I think you have to take personal responsiblity for what your grand daughter sees when she is looking over your shoulder when you are on the internet. I don't think it is any TDR members job to try and post based on what you think your grand daughter should see.

I'm really NOT a prude

I guess I'm lucky, not much offends me. Well that's not exactly true. I hate it when people try to control everything

People have been kicked from this board for arguing about information related to trucks... so, I can assume arguing about stuff NOT related to trucks would definately qualify someone to be "kicked" after a fair number of warnings.

This is NOT a free board, it is a "for profit" venture. The person(s) who run it have the right to censor it in any way they feel.

If the owner(s) of the board want to make it dodge diesel only topics, they have that choice. If they want to try and create a community around owners of dodge diesels, they have that choice too. Right now it seems this board is a community, we have police, criminals, honest folks, and definately our share of village idiots.

Either way is fine by me, someone just let me know what the rules are before you start handing out fines... .

Silly me- I thought the "other" forum was specifically set up for non-CTD subjects- a place where we could be a little "silly". As long as nothing pornographic or profane (I mean BAD stuff) is posted, what's the harm in us cutting up a little?

Methinks Gary-KJ6Q protests too much. Admit it, Gary- you're just as ugly as the rest of us. (Personally- plastic surgery wouldn't even help me!)

BTW, Dewayne- NICE trailer house! :D

Gary, I hope I don't give offense, but why would you let your granddaughter look over your shoulder if you were on this site and in the Other forum and you know there are things here that you wouldn't want her to see?

There's a disconnect here somewhere and I'm at a loss trying to understand it.

"but why would you let your granddaughter look over your shoulder if you were on this site and in the Other forum and you know there are things here that you wouldn't want her to see? "

Sorry to be so blunt - but THAT has to be one of the dumbest questions/comments yet on the subject!

Am I to assume MOST of you hide yer 'puters in a closet, and lock the door when you use it - just in case a family member happens to walk by and see something they shouldn't while you use it? Wouldn't THAT behavior in ITSELF raise a few suspicions?

As for THIS house, our 'puters are out in the open, for all family members to use - and I suspect that may be true for LOTS of households - I frequently use the upstairs 'puter in the family room while the rest of the family (our youngest divorced daughter and 2 grandaughters live with us) is watching TV - maybe to be safe - and allow other more adolescent users here their "freedom of expression", I should now restrict MY board use to a "secure" location? OR expect other family members to leave the room when I go online?

GET REAL!

That's much the same as expecting the rest of the family to LEAVE the house when some of yer less inhibited "friends" come to visit, lest they be exposed to conduct or language you don't like them to see/hear...

This board, on MY computer is a GUEST in my house - and like any OTHER guest, may prove to be either a welcome visitor, or an offensive. unwelcome one - if I choose to NOT have guests using poor language and behavior in my home, WHY would I want the same stuff unexpectedly showing in my 'puter monitor, or expect other family members to avoid watching when I am online?

IF/when THIS board becomes offensive, or members abusive, it/they will join the ranks of a number of other, similar people and boards that no longer are welcome here - I sure HOPE that doesn't happen here - I really like and appreciate most of the folks, and what goes on here - but just a FEW "bad apples... " Can surely spoil a barrel... And a tablespoon too much salt can spoil a good pie... ;) :D

Now, *I* am NOT attempting to "force" my morals or opinion on ANYONE - couldn't if I wanted to, *I* don't run this place - but that IS my opinion, just the same! I learned a long time ago that *I* can't change ANYTHING that goes on here on the internet - it's much like going to what you hope is a nice, quiet restaurant - and when you get inside, you find it to be a bit more rowdy than you like or expected - so in spite of what appears to be good food and prices, you simply tell the owner or waitress that this isn't the sort of place you thought it was, and LEAVE - you certainly won't get anywhere attempting to get the rest of the patrons to conform to YOUR personal standards or expectations - and many of them were there first - and are obviously enjoying themselves, regardless of how YOU feel!

I'm not HERE to "change" anything - and when/if it gets too rowdy for me, I'll use the clear and easy option available to me, and LEAVE (and I'm a LONG ways from that!) - I've already given the "proprietor" my own views on the subject, because we were ASKED for our opinions...
