No no you guys have to be wrong, a buddys second uncles cousin works for ford and he said that the new Powerstroker is going to have a seven liter V8 cummins in it. What do you say to that.....

:D

Cummins owns Cummins but has many share holders (mostly business related as in manufactures that produes trucks or tractors).

Companies/persons that own 5% of the stocks of a company are considered owners.

Ford pickup owners face the reality you got International engines under the hood (from factory)and always will. :(

International makes great engines it is just the design that is flawed (V-8). :{

If you want a Cummins in a Ford you are going to have to buy a class 6/7 med duty truck. Oo.

didn't someone here post a while back that you could get a ford SD with a 12v cummins and an allision 1000 transmission??? i think it was in mexico or something iirc

Oh no, not this subject again:eek:

i went to look for a psd (that a guy around here now owns) and found my truck after being there for 3 hours. anyways, when i went to pick it up, i met the guy and his wife who owned that white powerstroke. he gave me the run around about ford owning cummins:rolleyes:  i fought, but i just let him win:rolleyes: WHATEVER is all i can say to that:rolleyes: :D

We have both and the CTD is just a better motor, no question. The PSD runs fine but there have been more quality control issues with it than the Dodge and it gets less mileage. Pretty easy decision and the Dodge is much cheaper anyhow.

So if Ford doesn't own Cummins, why can I buy Cummings parts from my local Ford dealer for 20% less than from my Dodge stealer? :--)

just to add to the rumors. i was told yesterday that dodge wasn't going to build 3/4 and 1 tons after the 2003 year. . guy said the dodge dealer told him that

Yea, the Dodge is gonna have a 3 cylinder Mercedes diesel, Ford is gonna use a 950 HP "Cummings" since Ford owns them, GMC is gonna have a 12 cylinder Detroit 2 cycle diesel ( with one Aluminum head and one cast iron head ), one more thing, since Dodge will not make any 2500/3500 trucks any longer, they a making a 5/8 ton dually.

One more thing, the Dura-whatever engine is being sold to VW.

"So if Ford doesn't own Cummins, why can I buy Cummings parts from my local Ford dealer for 20% less than from my Dodge stealer?"

Because Ford won't sell Cummings engines in their rigs unless they are also allowed to sell the parts cheaper than the Cummings Distributors.

I cant wait!!! So the new Cummings truck is going to have a Mercedes Powerstroke, 3cylinder, 8 liter V-7. Will Banks offer a hop up kit for this? Are they still going to have the electric lift pump? I sure hope it is a mutifuel engine with CAPS injection.

I'm so tired of the whole "Ford owns Cummins" BS. That's just a line that the Ford guys use that basically says, "My truck owns your truck. " Plain and simple BS. Never bought it. Never will.

You guys are great

I can't stop laughing, V-7 8 liter... One thing I don't understand is why do all the 4 by magz always have big fords. I am thinking that the cummins owners actually use there trucks and don't waste a gabillion dollars on a 20 inch lift and tires that put the truck so high that it can change lanes over small cars. Is it just me? I have a 3 inch lift and 285's. Sounds good and is getting faster but I don't need to be higher, If I was I couldn't use the thing. And I probally couldn't use it for fourwheeling cause it would be to high to fit or top heavy and tip over. I can go more places than those guys, haul more and go faster. I think they are copinsating. (sp). I say this cause a friend of mine has a new ford power poke, 10 inch lift and 38s and it takes a parking lot to turn around. I am 21 so I can't be too far off? (Trucks look good but no use)

I, for one, will NEVER put "Cummings" parts on my "Cummins" engine, whether they come from a Cummins distributor, a Dodge dealer, or a Ford dealer.

Sorry, I couldn't resist...
