Isnt the rear over hang of the rail JUST A LITTLE TO LONG?

chain downs?? cant really see the amount you have but I think I would have Belly wrapped a few of them puppy's sudden stops can become a 80 foot missile.

I agree, each chain needed a half hitch around the rail. I am sure that load required pilot cars.

When driving down the road I look at the Flatbed trucks and the rules must have changed from when I pulled flats. I could closed the Federal Deficit within a week with so many load tie-down violations.

Well again at a loss for words!!!! THAT'S 2 TIMES THIS MONTH THAT'S HAPPEND.

Please be informed that YOU WILL GET PESTERD BY ME I really like what you have done. I briefly looked at the site you sent me to my slobbering on the computer screen made it difficult to read, Did you ever get a pin weight on the trailer?

Also I took a quick look at the class 8 walking beam suspension in the pictures and my BACK and A** started to CRY knowing that walking beam suspensions have beaten MANY OF THEM INTO SUBMISSION. A totally WRONG Choice in my opinion but there are many ways of looking at things. I like the choice you made and think the air ride is nice but its cost has got to be out of bounds.

I hope you dont mind I have ear marked the site you gave and will return as soon as I can get some Windex on the computer screen to clean slobber off so I can see and read.

Did you ever get a pin weight on the trailer?

Big, No I have not had the trailer weighed yet as it still needs to be plated. I have weighed my truck with different loads on it and I can estimate the pin at somewhere between 3500 and 4000 lbs. My design was for 3500 but at the last minute I increased some of the framing members in the hitch platform area so I'll be above design on the Pin weight.



Being that this is the first time I've designed and built a trailer I wanted to error on the heavy side as a light pin on that size trailer would NOT be the way to go.



Take the time to read though all the posts as there's lots of info and links. Thanks for the compliments, it's a ton of work... .

Just read through every page. Maybe you should start your own thread here and provide a link to South Bay for all of us can keep up with your project.

I wish I had thought outside the box in 09 as I wasted $40k on a POS 36' Attitude TH. We enjoy it but it was put together with bubble gum and toothpicks.
