Lift pump in conjunction with fuel filter mount pump

Alternator: To core or not to core?

I know people like the BBI injectors, but they sure have a premium price tag.
how about injectors direct? are the "new bosch" ones any good, I dont really need added power. or anyone messing with the tip for more flow.

any other input you can give and help me decide would be great.
Mine made it to 292K. time for new ones.

Nothing wrong with new production run stock injectors, lots wrong with remans if one knows what to look for. Even Bosch cannot rebuild them to be close to or better than production runs, only BBI has been proven to have that ability so far.

So you're saying BBi remans are a safe'ish route to consider?

For remans only source I would consider is BBI. Anything else is hit and miss with quality. BBI is meticulous about what they use to reman and much better QC on the ones they choose to rebuid.

Ive found a place about 200 miles away that will rebuild my injectors. however they are not to forthcuming with what all they rebuild on them. the price was $45 per injector. seems kinda cheap? https://www.swdiesel.com/fuel-injection-shop
With that being said, looks like i'll be getting some of the BBI .1 set. it's the closest to stock i see from them.

will see in a few weeks. im NOT looking forward to turning wrenches again. the number 6 has me dreading this whole thing.

Wish the TDR would do an injector article. Regardless people simply CHOKE on the cost and wish to get the cheapest thing they can get their hands on. Many companies including Bosch try and fill this need with poor marketing terms like "gen new" for rebuilt injectors. Rebuilt or reused parts are not "new", period. Except for Bosch injector rebuild marketing...

It's $10,000 to rebuild an engine, IF it can be saved, from an injector failure. Do you even want to ask the low bidder about warranty coverage extending to a melted piston?

The marketing of cheap krap that's everything but virgin new is frustrating. It's one reason I went with BBI's. Stage 1's, added a custom clean tune, and was very happy with them.

I wouldn't shy away from the BBi remans, they areas good as new ones - because they made them to the same specs as the new ones.

No, it is not physically possible for remans to be as "good" as new ones. While Martin is very meticulous about what bodies he uses to reman, probably rejects bodies most rebuilders go ahead and process, I do not thin he is running metallurgical analysis for metal fatigue. CR injectors are subject to +30k psi pressures and that will eventually take a toll. BBI's setup and QC will make a selected reman perform better than new production, but, BBI's processes on a new injector are still better than anything. BBI remans are as good as, actually better than, new production but they still have a failure rate so not perfect by any means.

well the injectors are in. The truck runs great again. no knock or odd sounds anymore. i was really stressing that i'd hurt the engine. we even went truck shopping just in case.
that said i'll be keeping this ol early 04 for a long time!, it's my favorite truck.

Is there a place to look up the injector number to see any info on them?
here are numbers on a few injectors.
f431-4-1189 3.10.21
f431-4-4527 3.10.19
f431-4-1480 3.10.21
i have 2 19's and 4 21's.
thoughts.?

Which one did you buy?

Not sure what info you are looking for. BBI will be able to tell you better than anyone what they are. Any info based on the injector #'s is void after Martin and crew are done with them anyway.
