Lift pump in conjunction with fuel filter mount pump

Alternator: To core or not to core?

I have the Stage .5 BBi remans in my 06 2500 6speed. I wanted a good injector for towing so Martin and I talked and this is what we decided on. Could not be happier and are definitely as advertised. Paired it with a Smarty Touch, good filtration, and good air. Has done a real nice job when pulling my 5ver.

What good air are you using?

Nothing special, just a K&N filter. No cold air intake at this point. I run my smarty touch on the #5 setting with BBi stage .5 injectors, clean filter and good filtration. Pulling my 11000# 5ver in Colorado I’m getting (hand calculated) 10 -11 mpg. If it gets steep for a long period of time, it’ll go to 9 mpg or so. 114K on the clock, original clutch. EGT’s at elevation and pulling up hill will tag 1100* - 1200* periodically.

Please do a search on your air filter choice. There are very knowledgeable people on here that are cringing when they read this. Looks like you want to do what is best for your truck. Listen to Cerb. He knows some stuff!

Thanks Mark,
I’ll do that. Doesn’t get driven much and I have heard this filter could have issues. I appreciate the reminder.

Ha! So you have sufficiently scare the sh*t out of me. My AFE, not K&N, has been in for 10’s of thousands of miles. Not disputing the position, just saying maybe I’ve been lucky. Will put something better in now. I have a spare, stock filter that I’ll throw in until I get some feedback.
Thanks all!
Scott.

I'm hearing alot more buzz on these BBI injectors not only here but the diesel truck mechanics that are starting to use them. Does BBI start with new Bosch parts or are they a competitor and making all their parts in house?

Hi W,
In my case, I went with the Reman’s. My understanding is they take new or core Bosch injectors. Then they apply some added engineering, adjusting and testing on them with the experience they gained while working for Bosch. Once done, they are mapped and documented. Personally, I wouldn’t use anything else. Every good thing said about them is true.

Look up Martin and check out there videos. Good people and good equipment!
Thanks,
Scott.

BBI buys new injectors direct from Bosch, adds their own design nozzles and patented setup and adjustment on all the line except remans. Remans they sell have the same setup as new using stock parts on the best of the used injectors they get. Typical remans can vary widely in what is good enough for reman, BBI used only the good ones, not the good enough ones.

Yes, I really haven't heard anything negative about them other than a bit on the pricey side. I like how they took their knowledge from Bosch and are improving the longevity and efficiency of those injectors.
