What a BS responce..... I boycotted ATS years ago due to poor customer service and junk trannies. The fact that ex employees still have pass words etc is a fine example of how ATS is run. Also ... the talk of DPF eliminator kits being illegal bla bla bla... ... ... ... . isnt just about every other add on ATS sells illegal too?????????????????????? "it was hacked and stolen" LOL LOL LOL. You allow ANYONE to have your pass word that accesses private emails, accounts etc... . and now your crying about it??????????????

Exactly my thoughts.

What a cop out to say everyone here has my pass words!!!!!

What a poor job of the management of the internet in house.

My userid on gmail is ratsarse and my password is cheesy08.

I trust all of you to use this information in a confidential, respectful manner. Especially the ATS webmaster/mail administrator, etc.

For the few IT techs out there who are mature responsible even-mined individuals, it must be a genuine embarrasment that so many who claim to be IT professionals express theirselves so poorly.

Wow, that letter pretty much sealed the envelope for me. If that is the type of people that ATS is made up of then there's no way I'll be dealing with them in the future.

What I found funny is that the IT guy thinks that we've let some huge secret out of the bag to the EPA. The EPA knows darn well what's going on, but there are constitutional freedoms involved that they must work around, and at the end of the day if they have 99. 5% compliance from the diesel population they'll more than likely not be too worried about the few slipping through the system unless they start feeling particularly rich and resourceful. Even then, there are the black label systems where there are no registered names and items are bought with cash. Have at er EPA.

This thread is getting really old in a hurry. Seems like only 1 person is really fired up about this.

Get over it and move on. Life is too short to get that excited about this mess.

As one of the fat-headed, pointy-butted keyboard mashers... or is it the other way around... Who DOESN'T have an ATS interest, I can say that I have met Clint and wife at May Madness twice now, and for myself, I don't think this type-riot is worthy. I mean- he drives a Chebby to MM!!! My feeling is he's a stand up guy, and there are more worthy issues to debate. Give the guy a break, and do what PT said :)

Funny stuff, doesn't change my view one bit. The fella who drafted the letter is to blame for the entire mess IMO. You don't load a weapon, point it at someone and then blame the guy who bumped you from behind causing the discharge.

That is about the best analogy I have heard of this whole mess! :-laf

Looking beyond the EPA issue and the selling out of the competition, I find that ATS will have a hard road to hoe in the DPF market. There is already bigger more established companies making these products and yes they are expensive to make and the profit margins are low on these products making them a product that is not wise to invest in developing.

Fleetguard and Donaldson are the big two and have a huge market share already in DPF's and DOC's and I doubt seriously that ATS could compete with either of them. These two companies also make a lot of retrofit's for older trucks to cut down on emissions.

If the aurea becomes a reality and timing can be added back into the trucks the DPF will be less of a driveability issue for owners. More timing means better combustion and less PM and less DPF plugging. Who knows maybe with this option the manufacurers could go with a DOC only to control the smaller amount of PM.

Moderators Forum
I moved the thread out of the public website, but I did not delete it.

ATS did not request this action. Nor did anyone else. And my action had nothing to do with their being a TDR advertiser. The thread was brought to my attention by Steve, our webmaster as a simple FYI.

Here is my rationale. ATS did not request the letter to be written. ATS did not write the letter. ATS did not mail the letter. When the letter was brought to their attention, they requested it be destroyed. It was drafted by a contractor of theirs. Further, it appears that the letter may have been stolen from an email account.

How would any one of you feel if your email was hacked and correspondance stolen then published in a public forum, especially when that correspondance was not requested by you, not approved by you, and not mailed by you?

My source was a post that was made on that thread. ATS did post a response. But leaving stolen correspondance in a public forum just seems wrong to me.

I would do the same for any of you if a TDR Member posted information or correspondance which had been stolen from you. In my opinion, that is not only the right thing to do, it is the only thing to do.

I hope this helps to explain the situation and my actions.

I think we're in agreement if all the posts are read. Sorry about the "funny stuff", but the positive coefficient of tangential displacement was exceeding my reality factor. OOOPS! did it again.
If you don't like ATS, don't like it for valid reasons.

I'm still pretty darn happy with the TDR and am not shopping elsewhere. The TDR admin should know that some of us, well at least I speak for myself, voice an opinion on controversial issues like this not to stir up crap and be a thorn in the wazoo, but because we care quite a bit about our online community. If I didn't care, I would have gone elsewhere or just glossed over this issue. Some of these issues are not so black and white as one person may feel, especially when dealing with a community. However, that doesn't preclude members from voicing their opinion, its a natural societal system that makes up the fabric of a community. I'm sure our points have been taken into consideration by the TDR admin.

I am not trying to restart an issue but something to check out. On page 59 February issue of Diesel Power is the product release of the "High-Flow DPF".

Is referred to as a breakthrough. I do believe it took tons of work to develop this product, but this thread is truly heart breaking to know what happens to get products sold.
