Hey i had my transmission rebuilt by level 10. its been a while since the rebuild but now I am experiencing overdrive too early. today i noticed the overdrive lockout doesnt seem to work. I do know for a fact the VB in the truck is not the original prior to the rebuild (Its in my garage i never sent it after my 2nd vb back oops) so maybe its possible i could have someone elses tired solenoid. why do you think i am having too soon overdrive issues and now no OD lockout? also whats the fastest way to diag. he offered me $100 to drive it to him but its not an easy trip.

I've been with TDR since 1999 and recently responses are slow. I have truck troubles also and not much replies which is unusual here on this site. It could be due to Christmas/New years time. You may get more response if you build a "Signature" of yourself to let people know more about what truck you drive and it's mods. Good luck and welcome to TDR. If all else fails, post on the 911 site. HerbW

Fill in your signature to help out as suggested, its common for early OD or No OD to be link to solenoid or pressure sensor.

Call the guys who built your trans. They would be best to diagnose there work.

they offered to pay me 100 bucks to drive it up there and let them look at it. only problem with that is i been there 4 times (2 trannies built) everytime i go up there sleep in the back of the walmart parking parking lot and wake up with mag light tapping on the glass license and registration. which means no sleep and hell ride home in boring delaware. last time we were swapping driving duties between 3 people. I was riding shotgun and the driver fell asleep and we were off the road on the grass slope headed towards the woods. I woke grabbed the wheel and steered us back onto road. needless to say I dont wanna drive up there no more unless i got to. if its something dumb I rather fix locally at my expense.

You do have a valid point there.

I take this is an 06 or newer if you have an OD lockout? Description of the truck and its mods would help a lot.

OD is computer controlled, TV pressure, line pressure, gov pressure, etc, all play into telling the ECU to go to OD. OD lockout is purely a ECU function and should not be influenced by the pressures.

Make sure the plug in the trans is seated firmly and clean, make sure the plug in the TV motor is seated firmly and clean (if you have one), otherwise check the the TV cable for adjustment and function.

Does the trans have the upgraded gov solenoid? That may be ALL the problem and is a simple fix.

Good luck.

I knew the TDR family would have some great ideas for you. The fees are worth the help many times over. By the way, a "signature" is a description of you and mainly your truck that you see under the members posting if you're not yet familiar with the term. We use that to help solve your individual truck fix or need by year, model, accessories, bombs, etc. Each year era has some particulars to that truck. Let us know what happens. Go to Discussion Forums, then "User Control Panel", then you'll see "Edit Signature". HerbW
