I had a pair of these (see gallery) installed at the dealer as part of a perk for doing the deal on the 3500 (in signature below). It looks great and seems to ride great, but there is a question.



On the way home, I drove off one of the more notorious frost heaves and it felt like the shocks topped out. Checking in the wheelwell, sure enough, the dust cover sits a little more than 2" higher than the previous crud line. Has me wondering... wouldn't a spacer kit come with a modified tower to drop the upper end of the shock back to its normal position? Sure seems like it should.



IF not, then longer shocks might be needed... . Go ahead, give me an excuse to buy something better... .

I'm not positive about a 4WD, but on my 2WD the 1. 5" spacer was ok for a stock shock, but the 2. 5" needed a longer replacemnet.
 
Also, if you had a shock-shaft extender, you'd need extended bump stops so the shocks don't bottom out.



Isn't the fact that they are stock shocks good enough alone to replace them?
 
The KORE stuff will have to wait... but Bilstein 5100's all around are due in on Thursday. Thanks to ORW and TDR.



Six hundred miles in the last 24 hours, down to Helena and back through the Swan. Pogo'ing all the way... . :(



The stock shocks don't have a lot of rebound dampening.



Are those large LightForce units the Plasma Discharge? The Strikers on my 04. 5 truck will be migrating. Same lamp, smaller reflector. Super items. I have my right light "reading" the left ditch and the left light doing the right ditch. Sort of cross in the middle with no blind spots.
 
I didn't have a problem with my stockers and a 2" leveling kit. I'm not sure why because the fronts had maybe 2" of uptravel in them haha.



I put some Bilstein 5100s in place.
