I have a buddy who has a 3/4 tn Ford and he put a front leveling kit on his truck, and switched out the rear lift blocks with 1 ton blocks, and it made his truck look like he had a lifted truck. I was wondering if you could do the same with a 2005 dodge. I want a higher truck, but I really dont wanna spend all the money to lift truck. Can this be done? And if so, is it a safe option, or should I just stick with a lift kit?

I just got rid of an 05 f-250 with the 2. 5 leveling kit in front & 2 blocks in the back the truck looked good with 33s what i didnot like was how the front of the truck felt loose going over pot holes or rough country roads. I wont do spacers again the o6 dodge will get a lift kit with new springs. just my opinion

2006 2500 4x4 6speed, exhaust brake, air lift air bags

On my 2003 dually I used 2" leveling spacers up front and 2" block out of the Tough Country 4. 5" kit in the rear. My buddy need 4" block cause he towed and didn't want it to sag. Looked screamin! With my flat bed and 265 70R19. 5's it looked really mean. Perfectly safe, as long as you use new U bolts the proper length.

blocks

Hey JCushman, I have some blocks from my 3500, it makes the tail too high for my 5th wheel trailer. I will measure them and if you want maybe we can trade?

Do a lift kit (quality one) with replacement springs. You won't regret it.

If I lift my truck, I would want a 6" lift. What is a good (resonably priced) lift kit? I am on the fence on getting one because where I work, i get a new truck every 5 years or so, so I m not sure it would be worth the money... then again whats money when you are havin fun right?

If your concern is safety you might want to reconsider a 6" "lift kit". What size tires do you want to run? How much and how frequently do you tow? I would rather see you install a " suspension system " like one from Kore. I have one on my truck with 35" tires and it drives and tows great. I regear many of these trucks in my shop and some of these 6-8" lift kits are kind of scary. I believe a high end truck should have high end parts. Just my . 02.

Hi Jason. Do you find the 373 is not good with 35's? I have an auto and am concerened with the loss of power. I am running a BD box. Thanks, Doc

I love my 4. 10's with the 35's for towing and off-roading,the 3. 73's are better for those speeding ticket type trips.

Hi Doc. I have the 3. 73's in my truck but I have the six speed. I am very happy with it. The 4. 10's would tow a little better but I also take a lot of trips to Arizona with no loads and love to drive 80-85mph, and that is where I love the 35's and 3. 73 combo. If I was a full time heavy hauler I would run the 4. 10's, but the 3. 73's and 35's tow everything I need at any speed I want. I used to own a automatic and could not stand towing with it, always felt like I was throwing torque out the tailpipe. Hope I was helpful. Good luck.
