Leveling Kit

Who makes a good leveling kit for the front of our trucks? Lookin for one for my 4x4.

Alrighty, 19 views and no response. I'll be the one. The standard answer is Skyjacker soft ride springs. They are available in many different heights, from 1" on up. The other alternative is a custom spring from Deaver or the like. They can make you a spring that will raise the truck and ride nice too I hear. The custom jobs are higher priced than the production jobbers, but it depends what you want out of them.

I can tell you from past experience that once you start adding springs or re-arcing front springs, ride quality goes out the window quickly. I would recomend going the Skyjacker route, I went the other way first and then went with Skyjackers (in other words I did my front springs twice... $$)

Come to think of it I still have the old springs, interested? Just kidding, get the Skyjackers.

i got my leveling kit from ebay seller "topgun customs. " good quality stuff. i also added 2" longer bilstein shocks up front... . had the front end re-aligned and i notice no difference in ride... . well actually it rides better now because of the new bilstein shocks all the way around.....

you can also go the skyjacker route as suggested... . everyone i know that are running the d25 coils are extemely happy... .

Hmmmmm... he has a first gen. (leaf springs) no coils here.

I have the 4" kit in my truck, if you want to see what it looks like before you do it, click on my "readers rigs". As far as the part numbers, on Skyjacker's web site any leaf spring with a "C" in front of it is for a Cummins equipped truck. If I recall correctly, the web site guides you through to your specific application.

I was able to find a picture of my old truck, it had the Skyjacker 2. 5" lift kit so you can see both 2. 5" and 4". (again, my new truck with the 4" lift can be seen in my readers rigs).

Leveling the truck front to rear is a good idea... . All you need is some flat stock to shim the low end up to level... You must put the shim plates UNDER the centering bolt ! Any spring shop will sell you the longer center bolts ... .



As for jacking up trucks... ... It is unsafe , destroy's the drive line, And just poor judgment . . The trucks were just fine the way we shipped them from the factory ! Putting huge arched springs or stacking more blocks between the springs and the axles throws off all the geometry of the chassis !

My W250 sits nice, but my W350 has a nose up attitude. I would like to level it, but it has a tall block in it now. Suppose a factory spring replacement is what I need? Seems like I recall these being nose up anyway, when new. I am plenty old enough to remember new 1989s sitting on the lot. I would hate to buy new springs only to be back where I am, any of you with a W350 run into this and can share a little? Thanks, Glen
