What is everyones recomendation for a levelling kit . I don't want to spend 700 bucks but also do not want a piece of junk that is unsafe. Put in the price too. Thanks!Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Chec with Dodge, If you don't mind lower the back end they make a kit to drop the rear for fifth wheels, around $150 as I recall.

Leveling Kit

Chipstien, I just got done putting in daystars and my buddie put in the ones from jack-it.com steel. we are both pleased with the results. I've got 305 on the truck with no problems

Skyjacker makes 2. 5" coils to level your truck, they go in easy and the stock shocks still work with plenty of travel, I have 315's on mine, witch is the metric equivalent to 35'sno problems. It's safe and rides great, with no bottom out. Don't use coil spacers!!! The springs are about $200.

Summit has Skyjacker springs for 140. 00 part no. D 25 2. 5 lift, they also have Rancho RS9000 shocks for 51. 00 a pc. buy 3 get 1 free for the month of march. Oo.

I have the Skyjacker leveling kit springs. I think the whole deal including installation (very experienced lift mechanic) was about $300. Like I've said before, I love this mod. The truck handles better than when stock. By that I mean that it handles corners, lane changes etc much better. Depending on what springs your truck came with, the difference could be substantial. I think I had 038/039 in mine. They were way too mushy. My truck still tracks straight as an arrow (as is did stock). I think it looks much better now too.

So the skyjacker kits are replacement springs? Is 200 for the pair or just one? Ramthis1, I have the 315's also... . I just say 35 because it is easier to picture them that way. :D Do these spring firm up the front? Thanks

Chipstien, yea that is for the pair, but check summit aparently their cheaper!! Yes they do firm up the front,if you use the skyjacker quad shock kit, easy bolt on,just make sure you get the "hydro" and not the "nitro" shocks.

what about the back?

Ok, the front goes up 2. 5 inches for about $300. What if I want to raise the whole truck 2-2. 5". I'd like to keep the same rake as factory. I plan to run 33x12. 50 mudterrains. I know these tires will fit stock, it would just look a little cooler a little higher.

I did 2 in leveling kit 110. 00 ,bilstiens 4x 58. 00 make sure they give you next size from stock for the front. truck sat level, but did not like the look. went with 1in add a leaf for rear. looks nice:D

54. 00. I have 295 BFGs looks great.

Chipstien,

I called Summit and asked them about it ( D25 ) is the skyjacker# I could not find it on there web site 140 a pair. :)

I used the Skyjacker 2" up front and replaced the rears with their springs to eliminate the factory lift block. I had the factory 039/046 coils and the Skyjackers felt firmer. The hydro shocks that came with the kit are junk IMO The front end was bouncing all over if I hit a large pothole. The Rancho 9000's made a huge differenc . Good luck. Here's a pic of my truck with the leveling kit. https://www.turbodieselregister.com/user_gallery/sizeimage.php?&photoid=216&width=3 Todd

Questions for task125 & TKemper

task125,

Do you have a photo of your truck?

TKemper,

Does your truck sit level? It's hard to tell from the photo. The references in the foreground make it look high in the front. How does it sit with a load?

Thanks,

Brian

Hi Brian, yes the truck sits level, even with the cap on. That pic was taken in my driveway, it's not level, so the truck looks a little off. The cap is quite heavy, probably around 200lbs. It takes 2 people at least, 3 is better, to take it off. If I add anything else in the bed or tow anything it'll start to squat in the rear. If I were to do it again I would try the daystar spacers with Ranhco shocks. I personally felt the Skyjacker coils were stiffer than I liked. The truck came stock with 039/046 springs which are pretty stiff... . not as stiff as the Skyjackers though. I like a softer ride. I think the Skyjackers would be great if I towed or plowed, they're good quality. Any other questions PM me. Todd

here's another pic https://www.turbodieselregister.com/user_gallery/sizeimage.php?&photoid=211&width=3

PS these pics are right after the install..... the springs will settle a bit over time.

I have a 2" Black Diamond spacer in front, $110. I also have a 2" body lift. No complaints or problems with this setup. I also have the Skyjacker coils to install later. Need a little more lift for taller tires. Am currently running a 37" tall tire. Here's how it sits.
