Liberals are all for "freedom of choice" 'cept if it's other people's choices!



They want freedom of choice in their ideals, but God forbid a parent wants choice in choosing a school for their kid.



There is so much hypocrisy from the left that it sickens me and the link you posted is just another example!



I would like to see the liberals take on the freedom of choice on the helmit issue (oh, but I forgot, they believe that government mandates are best for the people. )

This is rediculous. I hope that this situation is rectified soon. Sleddy is right, you can put your rug on the floor and bow to Mecca all day but don't bow your head at a table. Makes me cringe to think that someday I will have children going thru this.

I can't speak to the prayer in school issue except to say that "If it's on the Internet it MUST be true!"



As to the helmet issue, my moderate view is this: if you wear no helmet, fine. If you die in a wreck (or are seriously injured) while not wearing one, your family should give up any insurance claims and any right to sue. That way, your freedom of choice doesn't interfere with my ability to afford insurance! The same thing applies to seat belts. There, no govt. mandate necessary!

I appreciate your opinion, loncray, I don't want to divert attention from the original post. That reference was a 'lil jab at Sled Puller. He and I had a little mis understanding in a thread of helmit/ seatbelt issues of which we cleared up. Let's keep to the topic, but if you want, here is the other thread: Helmits: what's your take?

Seperation of church and state says to me that if a kid is praying in school, the school has no right to tell that kid to stop, just like they have no right to tell a kid to start. This country is going in the crapper, people need to get second jobs or something, they have far too much free time on their hands. Like my firends grandfather use to say, " back when I was growing up we didn't complain about things, we didn't have time to, we worked from sun up to sun down.

I don't believe it ever happened. Right wing extremists are just as guilty as left wing extremists of conjuring up BS to stir the put in their favor.

The last two graduations I attended for a neice and then my wife's neice both had the student speaker offer prayer. No one complained.

If you can afford to send your kids to private school, I'm not aware of any law preventing you from doing so.

The teacher stormed to Raymond's table, ordered him to stop immediately and sent him to the principal's office. The principal informed the young malefactor that praying was not allowed in school. If this is true, it is a clear violation of his constitional rights, and I suspect that any court in the country would rule that way. I have my doubts that it is true. I suspect that it is from someone (could be from the left or right) trying to push an agenda.

Was it the long hair, sandals, forgiveness, maybe the re-distribution of wealth? The New Testement reeks of liberal politics. Jesus said we should pray in our closets. This doesn't mean hunkered down under our shirts. It means in private. Spreading the word of God in an inviting way. Not cramming it down other's throats and annoying those who aren't interested. A kid praying quietly in school isn't bothering anyone unless he's standing on the table cramming his beliefs down the other's throats like a street corner televangelidiot. Then he would be a problem and should be removed. I don't believe either happened.

Seperation of church and state means just that (as highlighted above). The public (aka, goverment schools) are doing just that, whether it is from the federal level or not. Not allowing people to pray, read a Bible, and the like, is wrong. The schools used to use McGuffey's Readers. They were not multi-culturalistic, liberal laced school books as are used today. They are faith based books.



Even some law schools (and the public schools) don't have a class to teach them about the Constitution. That is part of the reason the goverment (and judges) have been able make unconstitutional laws by ignoring the seperation of powers (Legislative, Executive and Judicial). The people don't know to do something when their rights are being taken away.



It is also why the liberals get away with alot of the crap they pull.

I fully agree - Christianity (or any other religion or belief) shouldn't be crammed down any one else's throat. It should be an individual's choice.



Now that we have that cleared up, when are we going to quit cramming acceptance of homosexuality, obscene language, depravity, tolerance for anything and everything opposed to Christianity, including immodest attire, rape, murder, laziness, corruption, graft, lying, stealing, cheating, adultry, and many more examples I can't think of at the moment, down everyone else's throat who don't believe those things are right?

Where is it that you're having these things crammed down your throat? Whether it's John Haggie on TV or pornography on the internet, I have to willfully seek these things out. I don't like Ellen or whatever her name is on TV. So I watch something else. We watch very little TV for the reasons you pointed out. But no-one is cramming these things down our throat. You're free to dress like a hooker or a saint. No-one is forcing you to dress like one or the other. You don't see topless dancers protesting out in front of the church. But you do see protesters out in front of topless dance bars. So who started it all. Maybe we should have minded our own business. Then maybe other people wouldn't be minding ours.

I have read Ann Coulter's work before, and every line is THOROUGHLY documented and painstakingly researched. She simply is not refutable.

BTW-- in His day, Jesus WAS totally liberal. At its heart Christianity has both liberal and conservative elements. For example, turning the other cheek is more liberal (as is giving to the poor, maybe) but the fall of man and an eye for an eye is more conservative...



TYhe problem with liberal or conservative is compared to what? Once the liberals conquer the US, I will be considered a radical liberal trying to institute change... . back to a conservative norm. .

Could you be so kind as to post some irrefutable evidence that the topic at hand is accurate and true. A website URL or newspaper article. I personally don't believe it but I would stand corrected if it's true.

Here's what I came up with after some painstaking and thorough research. At least this article has a date. I'm more inclined to believe the school's version. It makes since. The kids claim doesn't even sound believable. So Ann Coulter's research amounts to some hyped up claims from a 4th grader and his nutcase parents.
