I need to replace both the license plate lights and not just the bulbs. It looks like these are all one piece plastic.

Who would have a complete replacement unit for these or an aftermarket company????

I would even be interested in a used set...

Thanks

Rick

Hey Gary, is there anything left off "Ol #1"? I think you've given that truck apart piece by piece to guys all over the country. :D

You a good man Charlie Brown. ;)

ya gave a "few" things to some good guys LOL 'ol #1 lives :)

only thing that scares me is will their rig take a sudden love of cliffs or tree hugging hehe

Worst case scenario: P/N 56018807 WIRING, Taillamp Socket lists at $11. 66 each at your nearest Mopar parts counter. I replaced one on my model year 2000 Ram about a year ago.

The part number & description are from the model year 2000 parts book. The price is from my receipt. The description on my receipt is "WIRING-LIS". The socket from the factory had basically liquified and become gummy for some reason???

The connection on the back of the socket came apart in my hands. And it was not just one of the but both! It must have been because of age. .

Yep, both of mine have been melted for about two years, haven't replaced them as of yet thinking they will just melt again.

I had one go bad. Bought the socket portion from NAPA and used the existing globe part. I forget the details, but I made it work fine.

I used the same socket number as Thomas.

However, after I destroyed one of mine it was THEN that I found out the only way to replace the bulb is to remove the 2 torx screws from the bulb cover. This allows the back to come off and exposes the bulb.

IT DOES NOT TWIST OFF!!!.

That mistake cost be ~10 bucks!

Oh well, it hasn't been the cheapest mistake.
