Competition Mass Diesel Making Alot Of Power !

Off Roading Work in progress, pics inside

Since I have to flatbed to many competitions out East of Nebraska (wish I could drive it; to far to get stranded if it breaks)... could some of the more experienced share on what I need to register for weight wise (DMV)? Do I have to register my trailer or truck for approx 24,000 GVWR and what combination thereof? Any states I have to cross the scales?

Would be best to talk to the NE DMV. Every state is a little bit different. If the truck looks stock, DON'T tell them it is going to be used for competition w/ a purse. Will be considered commercial. A lot more hassle. Unless it has changed (or the cop was just an a-hole) in IA, the trailer needs to be licensed for the 24k. I know a guy that had the truck licensed for all of it, and they still gave him a fine in Des Moines, Ia. Plate was on the trailer, too. IIRC, he was from NE as well. I would license the truck fror 12k.

If the commercial pickup trucks go across the scales, I've never seen it around here. I drive a big truck, so I have to. Never have with the Ram. Most of my towing is on back roads with ag equipment (ie, low speed)

Straightened things out with the Nebraska DMV. They had the trailer reg and title all messed up. Previously they told me I couldn't reg the trailer for more then 9,000 which made no sense to me at all.

At over 9,000 on the trailer (trailer+truck=12,000lbs) you have to reg the trailer pseudo "commercial" and reg all the weight on the truck. So I have new reg for the trailer and new reg for 13ton on the pickup. Should be all legal now. According to DMV it isn't truly commercial until you get to 27,000 pounds even though the trailer reg says commercial (and the plate doesn't; lol)... . it's all fubar with these bueraucrats.

Anyone else flatbed their sled puller?
