my o3 has 202,000 mi, any ideas how long injectors last. still runs good, no smoke, just want some idea how far to push them

Ran into a guy that had 325,000 on his 03. Had run an EZ since pretty much new. It had just started to smoke on start up and he had a set of injectors installed. Cured it, he said it was running like new.

after reading this, I was trying to figure out when in fact I should Replace the fuel filter in my truck. I have a 2004 and only have 8,500 miles on her. I do not travel far at all to work. I have never had it replaced as of yet, am I making a big mistake? This is my first diesel. so much to learn. . I was pleased to read my injectors have a long life ahead of them providing I dont screw that up. . Any good advice would be appreciated... Thanks.

The manual states 15k mile intervals on the fuel filter, I change mine at 10k. I recall having some issues on both an Isuzu-max and Ford 7. 3 at about 10k on a filter. I switched to the shorter interval from then on and have had no problems since. You're still fine at 8500 ;)

The first filter change should come early. Mine was totally black at 7k miles. After that 10-15K miles is adequate. A tip to maintaining a long lived engine, filters are cheap.

I had planned to have the dodge dealer change my first fuel filter on my second oil change at 10K. I had read here somewhere to let them do the first one due to a very tight cap made of plastic. I appreciate your response, I'll begin to learn how to do myself in the very near future. :p

I didn't have any problem with the fuel filter. The oil filter on the other hand is tighter than a __________________ (you fill in the blank) from the factory.
