How close would a 35" tire be to a 315/75R16? From what I've been reading, the 315 or the 305 seems to be about the biggest tire you can stuff under the front with a leveling kit. The best part is I'll take it to the same place that does our tires here at work and they will take the time to figure out which one will work with no rubbing.

I've thought about two sets of tires as I have a junk 1 ton van at work we are going to scrap so I could have a set of rims but they're the crappy plain steel rims, if I swap my nice looking polished rims for the steel ones then the only chrome left on the truck woud be the stacks and my beat up bumpers!

By my calculation the 315/75 would 34. 6".

305/70r16=33x12. 50x16 315/75r16=35x12. 50x16. The best your gonna be able to get with a leveling kit is the 305's. 315 will fit if you on plan on going straight the first uphill turn you take you'll be replacing a tire or fender or both:{Here's mine with 35x13. 50x20 atz's and a4. 5 sj lift.

How much did your 4. 5" life set you back? That's probably as high as I would want to go. Did you have any steering issues after the lift and need to correct everything? How complete was the lift kit?

I'm running a KORE system on my 2002. It provides about 3 inches of lift and a great ride. No steering issues. I clear 35 inch Toyo on factory alloys with no rubbing in the wheel well. I do rub slightly at a fully locked turn.

Personally, I like the truck to sit a little taller, but no too tall.

Carli Suspension or Lorenz

Consider a Carli starter kit. For $1375 you get his soft riding front coils w/3" lift, rear mini-paks which kill the stock Flintstones, extended swaybar links, and four Bilsteins of the proper length. An adjustable trackbar and 2nd gen conversion kit (sourced from him) re-centers the axle and it's a leveled and modestly lifted truck for way under $2,000. Lorenz offers a similiar kit for slightly less.
