Lift kit ideas/recomendations/help

Well i am sick of how this truck looks with only the 2" lvl block. This truck needs some more attitude to it. Ive had a truck lifted 12 inches with 42's and didnt like all the problems that came along with it so i dont plan on going anywhere near that height/lift size. Id like to stay with a 34. 5 - 35 " tire. WHY? Because if i go bigger the truck will be a dog and i dont want that. . I dont think im gonna go for 500 hp anymore. . Maybe around 400 - 450. All my buddies talked me out of it . This truck isnt being built for speed anymore. But like i said i dont want it to be a dog. I was thinking maybe a 3 - 5 " lift kit? I do not want blocks on the rear or the front (lvl block). I plan on getting new front springs that are 2" bigger than the rear because i need that leveled out effect (i dont tow anything so im not worried) example if i got a 4" kit id get a 6" spring and 4" leafs... . Anyone have any ideas/recomendations for me?

T-Rex makes pretty good lifts it sounds like from reading, no personal esperience.

t-rex IS a good lift. But WAYYYYYY too much money for my budget. And this truck wont see too much offroading. My K30 is the offroader

If you've got the 4. 10 gears I would look at a 3-4" lift and slap some 37's on it. That would give you quite a bit of height over the 2" leveler and 35's.

Since you want to still add power... . IF you only have 3. 73's the 37's would probably be fine BUT with those gears and 37's... even with added HP you;d be a little sluggish off the line and it may not be too good for the transmission. Too many people run too big a tire and not enough gear... all the power in the world won;t help unless you can get the MPH vs engine RPM in a good range.

Either the Superlift 4" or the skyjacker 4. 5" would look good with 35's, unless maybe you go to alot wider rim, I jacked the front end of my truck up to see what it would look like for fender space at about 4" 4. 5" and 5. 5". 4" looked just fine, 4. 5" ok, and 5. 5" (high as my jack would take it) made the tire look way too small on the stock rims.



As for the rear lift kit, if you do a 4" front, you might be able to get away with an add a leaf in the rear if that's an option, or you might try the skyjacker or superlift rear spring upgrade, which is usually the right height to level the truck.

I'm going to use the SJ front box kit with kelderman bags and brackets made for a 4. 5" lift, and I'll have about an inch of driveable adjustability either up or down from that number. Depending on where it sits I'll just use some bigger blocks until I get the rear 4-link setup.

How much can i get the 5" lift for. So far ive seen a price around 1000 dollars... Is that correct?

Not sure on the sj, but the front box kit is like 550, and front springs are about 150. Then you just need the rear springs and all 4 shocks. IIRC last time I checked on SJ rear springs for a dodge they were aroudn 200-250 each. Summit has pretty good prices on the SJ stuff.



The superlift, with blocks is like a 1000.



If you go to SJ's or superlifts website you can look up the part numbers for the springs and front and rear box kits and take the PN's over to summit and get the prices using the manufacturers search.

I guess if you're not off roading with it, why the big lift? I think it looks good. Maybe a new bumper will give it "attitude".

Mine will never be a true off road truck either, but I do need the clearance at times and I'd rather have it all the time then whish I did when I need it. It's a general purpose truck and will be made to do everything well, and not few things exceptionally.



The t-rex isn't something that is needed and wouldn't perform as well as say an SJ kit on the trails in my neck of the woods anyway. That kit was designed to take up the bumps at speed, and doesn't increase the clearance or add much room for bigger tires.



It's all relative to what kind of use your truck is intended for.
