Hello,

i am looking for a 2 inch lift kit and would like to know how does the moderate lift affect mileage. Would like to higher but i am parking my rig everyday in a garage at work so it´s not possible to go higher.

Thanks for any input,

Marcus

I know it sounds like over kill but iv been thinking of puting in air bags. Kinda like the low rider thing. So driving I will sit high but parked it wont easer to get in and out.

Ebay usually has 2" spacers for $120 "buy it now" or if you prefer to swap out coils Skyjacker makes a 2. 5" coil they in pairs seperate from lift kits. They run about $159 delivered from Summit Racing. part # SJA-D25. ;)

thanks i found it on ebay, i think will go with t he spacer is there anything special to watch for? Steel or PU spacers which ones are better?

Greetings Marcus

If you drive off-road much, I would suggest steel. For a daily driver truck PU is fine. The other issue could be shock length, you may need longer shocks if you are off-road much.

Marcus,

If you are in Austria, then you must really have a rig that stands out!

As far as the mileage: I average almost 18 mpg with a 3" lift, 36" tires, 4. 10 gears, and a leadfoot. Of course, a taller truck is going to be slightly worse than a stock truck, but I think you would be hard pressed to measure the change. My guess is on the order of 0. 5 mpg.

Hi Steve,

thanks for the info regarding the mileage, seems mileage will not be hurt so much, i will look if get some at ebay, would you prefer a complete 2" lift or a levelling kit?

Yeah here are only some few Full Size pickups drivin around.

Most of the pickups here are some small mitsubishis and toyotas let´s call them very compact sized. :D

You definitly grab the looks with the ram here. Spare parts are weak point, but with some endurance and the internet it´s not a really problem.

greetings Marcus

How much lift can you add and still use the stock drive shafts and 4 link bars on the front? ( I forgot what you call them) Also is there replacement bushings for them? Mine are shot.

Everything depends on what you prefer and what you want the truck to do. Leveling kit or springs suit me because I like a more even look instead of nose down.

Stock driveshaft and control arms work O. K. for me at 3" of lift, but the shocks did not. Sorry, can't help with bushings.
