Hello everyone,

so i have my 98. 5 4x4 100k, with factory suspension and the rancho leveling kit up front. she sits a little nose high, and i think the rear springs might be starting to sag a bit...

i would like to go skyjacker 2. 5 to swing 35s, here is my question...

if i go 2. 5 will it sit nose down again??? can i swing 35s without my leveling pucks??? will the 2. 5 be bigger in the front that it is now?? would like to eliminate my leveling pucks...

would love to go 4. 5 but i don't think maine will let me... . :(

would love to here what everyone has tried and what has worked for you all!!!

is skyjacker the way to go?? would like bilstin shocks, or are skyjackers good enough???

Thax guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds to me like the set up you have now should allow 35s. ive got an 01 with just a leveling kit and ive been running 35in goodyear mtr's for quite some time with no major rubbing issues

I don't think i could swing 35s and not look stuffed. my 285s are looking just about right except she is a little ***-low.

i was thinking suspension lift for the new springs and shocks, it all has 100k on it.

just wanted to know, what combos would make me less nose up and still clear big meats.

how do the air bags work?? are they expensive? will my shocks work right???

anyone out there with a skyjacker 2. 5 and 35s?? is it level???

Thaxs!!!!!!!!!!!!

All you are really gaining from a "KIT" like the skyjacker over the pucks is improved geometry... The kits have longer control arms that move the axle back under the centerline of the fender well... the tires won't be so close to the back of the fender well. I don't know if the skyjacker kit updates the trac bar or not.

I'm with the others... your 285's should come in at 34 inches and most 35's are only 34 inches..... the difference will be in rim width. Many people get away with factory rims and 35" tires with no rub.

I would invest in some way to bring the rear up if I were you. If you still want the pucks gone, you could order just the D25 coils from Skyjacker.

Also, take a measuring tape and measure the distance between the fender wells and the tops of your tires. . This will help give you an idea of whether the rears are sagging or not.

Alot of people level their trucks and percieve that the rear is low because the roofline rakes back.

im running the revtek leveling kit and 285's on 16x8 rims with a 4. 25 offset. no rubbing. a friend also has the revtek and 315's on the stock rims and very little rubbing, i think is only at full lock.

Yep, that's exactly what I have on mine. Difference is, my truck only has about 66K miles on it, and I have had no heavy loads to speak of (not sure of your case)

Truck sits level... check out my readers rides section. I measured the height from the pinch weld to the ground right behind the front wheel and right in front of the rear wheel on both sides, all are the same. Even with that, the truck almost looks nose-high... it's an optical illusion.

You could get the D25's and new rear springs from a reputable supplier (which would eliminate the lift blocks, take out some of the axle wrap, and maybe ride smoother) along with new control arms. You could do this in stages if, like me, you have budget limits, and end up with a better riding/handling truck and the look you want.

Don't forget the shocks or a new front end alignment, and don't ask me how I know!

HTH.

35" TIRES WILL NOT FIT WITH A 2. 5 INCH LIFT. DON'T BUY IT, I DID AND IT DID NOT WORK. You should be able to fit 33" tires with D2. 5 coils from skyjacker.

No matter if you go 2. 5 or 4. 5, purchase new control arms since the stock ones flex.

I have a 4. 5 inch lift on my truck. If you want a perfect lift you need to do this:

D4. 5 front skyjacker coils

DT (nicer) or skyjacker control arms

Thuren lifted track bar

Have a new set of rear leafs made at a spring shop that also get rid of the factory blocks (you will need approx 8 inch over stock springs made)

A set of bilstein shocks for front and back.

You dont need to waste your cash on the full skyjacker kit. All you need it the coils and possibly the control arms.

You can do the lift i just mentioned if you shop around for approx 1500 bucks. before wheels and tires. I run weld rims with BFG M/T 35x12. 5.

I'm running the same lift mentioned and am happy with it. I currently have the DT track bar and it is JUNK, after talking to Thuren, doing some searching, he offers the best bar for a lifted truck.

Anymore questions let me know, also, do it right the first time, instead of doing it twice.

those stock steel wheels are only like 6" wide. your gonna want atleast 8" if your gonna go to 35" tires. youll have to modify the rear brake drums to fit the stock aluminum wheels. i fit 35's with a level kit but i get a little rubbing at full turn.

I have a set of SkyJacker 5" coils and control arms and brackets that I would sell for 300 shipping. I had them on my truck with 35" BFG m/t tires and 16. 5x9. 75 Weld Wheels. No rubbing and looked great.

Pm me if you are interested.

I've got my 94 that i just did skyjacker d25's on and the front is now a little higher than the rear of it until you put the plow on it and then its dead level.

I'm going to be looking into the mini kit for the rear that core makes to get the back end up and also like everyone has said the extended controlarm as i have 33 12 16. 5's on mine and i have a rub only on the right front...
