Those of you running 35" tires what lift did you use to clear them? I want to run 315/75R16 BFG All Terains on the stock 16x8 wheels. Please include whether the lift is accomplished by spacers or new coil springs.
BTW my truck is a 2001

Hemi Dart, where did you get the ladder bars? with the amount of torque I plan to produce I need some of those.

Wow these are some good looking trucks!

cdalech, I have tried the BFG 315's on my truck and the hieght was not a problem. The tires would barely rub on the inside frame when turning at full lock. They do fit and look very nice on the factory rims. I settled for BFG 295's which are almost as tall and fit very nice with no rubbing at all. I recommend that you go down to the tire shop and try one on the front before making a decision.

with the lifts that you guys are using what has broken? What are the weak links that you have seen, mainly the frame mount for the lateral torque arm

I got the bars from National Tire & Wheel. They are Fabritech Stage II bars. Was very happy with them. You have a choice of colors.

I had a pair of the early protoypes. My front mounts for the bar cracked. Fabritech redesigned the front mounts for added strength. They shipped my out the revised front mounts N/C. Much beefier and a little different design. Well the bolt hole pattern on the new mounts is different than my holes I have for the first mounts. NO WAY was I going to drill 8 new holes in the frame. Thats why I don`t run them anymore. I wish I could. #ad

I have had no front end components break or wear pre-maturely because of the added 1-2" lift. Its not enough to throw off the geometry of the front end. (IMHO)

I had them on E-Bay. Click below for more info on the bars:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBay ISAPI .dll?ViewItem&item=429035875&r=0&t=0&showTutorial=0&ed=968718109&indexURL=0&rd=1

They are still for sale. Cheaper than the E-Bay price #ad

I have Tuff Country's 5 1/2" suspension and a 3" body lift. The only part I've broken is my track bar drop bracket. Also, all of my parts are chrome, which people say weakens metal. Total B. S. !! I beat the hell out of my truck and it holds up just fine! Tuff Country says my bracket was a fluke and they haven't had another break. Now my ball joint is getting sloppy on the track bar, so I'm gonna try the D. T products bar. By the way, with this much lift my 37" Good Years look tiny. Waiting to go bigger, size does matter!

Dear cdaledh, I am running Les Schwab 315-75-16's on uktra alloys 8". I have 2 sets on for the winter and one for the summer Txr's on the winter Safari all season in summer. I had 285's and when I went to 315's I had to put a 1" lift one the front. It leveled the truck out and I can still get in it without a ladder. I do have smitty built step bar though. The safari's also come with a 50's mile warrenty and are about $40 bucks less that bfg's. They look and work great.
If you have any questions just e-mail me.

I was looking at getting 35" tires but was told I needed a 5" lift to put them on. Well a 5" lift is like $800-900 and if I go with 33" tires all I need is a leveling kit which is $150. 00. So A week from Monday im getting it all put on with all new shocks and the BFG AT's new KO's. I'm getting the BFG's at schwab for $711. 00 installed. Is that expensive? $177 a tire installed and balanced etc... I herd Walmart sells them for cheap Id have to check them out.

Sky, I had a 5" lift on a T100 - the best $900 I ever spent. FWIW, if Les Schwab tries to sell me a tire, I buy it. They have NEVER let me down. Joe

You only need a 1"lift to run 315's(they are the same as 35's). I have 2 sets from les. they work great and the truck will ride even better on the highway. you dont need a 5" lift!

davedd,

Your kidding? With just a 1" lift in the front end you can fit 35" tires with no rubbing at all in the front end?

Sky, I have been running 315-75-16 les schwab tires since I bought the truck in aug. of 98. just a 1" lift on the front spring perch, that my local les schwab dearler installed. The tires an wheels look and run great, however you may want to consider bushwacker fender flairs as I did. i live in snow country and the tires stick out past the stock wheel wells and cover the side of the truck with yuck when it snows. they were easy to install as I left them black. my truck is white and the black offset looks good. If you have any questions e-mail me or call 775-265-4516,Dave

Sky,

I have 36" tires on my truck with just a front end leveling kit. They have never rubbed.

In fact we just swapped the 36`s on a bone stock 99 Quad Cab 4x4. We had to remove the front mud flaps to clear the tires on a turn. We drove for 15 miles. We only got a rub on the plastic inner fender well liner pulling into the driveway, hitting a slight bump while the tires were in a 3/4 turn. There is plenty of room for the tires on the lower fender sheetmetal (front & Back). It the fender liner that will rub at a modest turn. Full turns are no problem, plenty of clearence. I hope to post some pictures soon.

The fender openings are HUGE on our trucks.

BigBadDodge, Beautiful Truck! Thanks for more pictures of the Fabritech traction bars. You, me and DAVID VT are the only guys I know of that have them. Pictures are few & far between.

Where can a guy get a 1" lift for the front end? All I can find is a 2 or a 2. 5, which would be a little too much for me.

I sure wouldn't mind a little stiffer spring, mine are the 38,39.
