Now this is the kinda topic I love to read!
When I recieved my truck I noticed it sat about 1" higher in the rear than all of the other trucks on the lot. I nor the dealer could explain why it was so much taller in the rear than the other trucks. It looked terrible, kinda like some "Herman Munster" mobile. I couldn't wait to get a leveling lift installed.
When I purchased the Leveling coils, the guy said that most Cummins/Rams will sit . 5-1. 0" high in the front. Mine just barely is level with the height of the rear. I hope they don't settle very much. I had measured before and after and had gained 2 5/8" with this kit.

I have the 2. 5" Skyjacker leveling coils and could make my 35x12. 50's rub if I wanted to cross a serious ditch. I did run 33x12. 50's stock with no problem.

A word to the wise, to prevent tire damage, take a disc grinder and round off that sharp corner on the bottom of the front fender. Sand the area and paint it. This will give you some extra clearance as well as protect your $700 meats and your life. <font color=blue>

I almost forgot one important ingredient for big tires is a good aftermarket Steering Stabilizer.

I'm currently running Dual End to End stabilizers. These give better obstacle clearance than the dual parallel mounted ones.

Thanks for the help guys. I've been wanting to do this since I bought the truck in Feb. I'm runing 285x75x16 on the stock 16x8 wheels, the tires still look too small for the truck. I may go to 295 or maybe even 315, but 315 may be a little too big for my 3. 54 and my 8" wheels. I guess we'll see.

I have heard that the factory coil springs for the snow plow kit give about 1. 5 inches of lift. Is this true? What else is different on the front end for the snow plow prepped trucks? I measured my truck and there is about 3" of heigth difference between the front and rear... . measured to the top of the fender well.
