All this liftpump talk is giving me the willie's. Is there anyway possible to even tell if the thing is working without having a gauge? Also, can someone direct me to "Briar's tool" I have been hearing about? Search tool isn't working. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the liftpump what turns on when you turn the key? It sounds like it builds pressure and then stops?

Thanks

Here is my story. 2000 3500 4x4 CTD, 44K miles. Truck is a daily driver. Has pulled a couple of 8000 lb loads. I treat this truck like it is my best friend. Fuel additive and only clean truck diesel. Truck ran fine, started every time. I bought Briars FP test gauge and hooked it up. Showed "0" PSI. It has been 8,000 miles since I changed the fuel filter so it died sometime in the last 8,000 miles :( . Call the dealer and took it by this morning. 45 minutes later new lift pump (free, under warranty)13psi idle, 10psi cruise. I will continue to check my lift pump with the Briar test guage. Email Briar a PM and he will get back to you on how to get his gauge. That is what I did and sent him a check on tuesday and had his gauge by the next tuesday. Well worth the price and on my 2000 it is very easy to use. Takes less than 1 minute to hook it up.
