I currently have about 350k miles on my made in China, Cummins lift pump. Typically they have lasted about 300k so I'm thinking about replacing it as preventative maintenance. Before you remove the old one I recommend you purchase a new 90 degree hose from the prefilter and a square cut gasket parts #3923194 for the line that connects to the top of the prefilter. Personally, I wouldn't touch the one you have.

I've replaced the 90 degree hose from the prefilter to the lift pump. Where can you get a square cut gasket #3923194? When you said (Personally, I wouldn't touch the one you have) do you mean the one that is in the truck(original)? or the one on Ebay? Thanks Dave

He's telling you the same thing I did. Leave it alone, quit worrying, and DRIVE.

That is correct Scott.

The only place I've found the gasket is through Cummins. It would be nice if Genos included it with their lift pump as they do the gaskets and studs.

BigPapa and GAmes, I'm just going to drive it:D, was just wanting to know if I needed that grommet, where I could get it. Got done with fuel filter changed and strainer, waiting on oil and filter change. Want to check the KDP first.I'm just OCD about keeping extra parts with me when I'm off road.:D

Thanks Dave

I have a box full of spare parts I took with me when we towed our 5er to Alaska last summer. I didn't use one of them. A lift pump isn't a one beer job, in fact if it has never been removed before it can be difficult. G O Rilla installed it, as he did many other of the bolt on parts. As a general rule, the lift pump will give you plenty of warning when it is getting weak. It will either start clicking (the push rod tapping on the cam lobe because the return spring is getting weak) or it will start a slow leak from the witness hole. I've driven from Seattle to central TX with one tapping.

The Napa lift pumps are decent , no issues .
Don't buy any thing from diesel care performance on e bay there parts are junk

236,000 on mine. It's on the list though. I will probably eliminate the heater and add the stud kit at the same time.
