Tank -> RACOR 690 -> lp -> ff -> VP
Get all the crap out before it ever has a chance to get into anything.
The 690 will get ALL the water out. If you got a bad load of fuel, I would drive 10 miles or so, drain the water from the 690, drive 10 more miles, drain the water from the 690, repeat the process till all the water is out. And your fuel system doesn't get screwed up with contaminants. The OEM filter soaks up water, not sheading it like the 690.
I drain a sample from the 690 about every couple of weeks. Generally get about 1/2 a BB worth of water and a little particulate suspended crap. Guess what did not get into the fuel system?
Let the ff FILTER to 10 microns (I use the 10 micron 690 so the only thing the OEM ff has to do is to get anything the lp or lines shead off).
CLEAN fuel has to help the system run ya gotta believe.
