Ok I need to replace my lift pump, heater, and wires to the heater.

I am wondering before I spend the $$$$ on this stuff new can I just put on anything aftermarket like on the frame rail? Any thoughts or options here?

thanks joe

Probably don't need to replace the lift pump. They are practically bullet proof. If the problem is in the heater assembly, remove the heater and associated wiring from the pre-filter housing and re-assemble the housing.

Joe G has an excellent write up on the fuel system and how to make these repairs. He will e-mail you one if you ask.

The write up contains pictures of the fuel heater and what fails in it. Email me at -- email address removed -- for the write up.

Get rid of fuel heater they don't help much and just cause trouble. put a barb fitting into the lift pump and run rubber hose with an inline fuel filter. Push primer button on lift pump if you don't hear the overflow valve either the lift pump is nfg or the overflow valve.
