how loose should the fuel heater element be once you remove the fuel strainer? I removed mine in my seemingly never-ending quest to cure my hard starting problem. The fuel heater element was loose when I went to replace the gasket on the bowl. I didn't tighten it at the time because I wasn't aware it was held in place by a hex head bolt. I guess I am just tryng to keep from re-doing something I should have done right the first tme. Also, when I got it all back together I noticed that the boot covering the push button primer was torn and it leaked fuel whenever I pump it. I am guessing that you guys are going to tell me it is time to replace my lift pump, huh? Lastly, has anyone installed a FASS system on a 95 CTD? Would that be better than a replacement mechanical lift pump?
