I PUT A BANKS GIT-KIT IN MY 95 R-3500 ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO AND SHORTLY THERE AFTER WHEN THE T/CON WOULD LOCK UP AT ABOUT 50 MPH I WOULD GET A SHUDDER OR SOME BUCKING TYPE ACTION FROM WHAT FELT LIKE THE MIDDLE OF THE TRUCK. I PASSED IT OFF AND THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS JUST BECAUSE IT WAS ABOUT 30 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND MY TRUCK WAS A LITTLE TESTY. BUT NOW THAT THE TEMPS ARE ABOUT 50 DEGREES IT STILL DOING THE SAME THING. I'M THINKING IT'S EITHER MY OVER-DRIVE UNIT OR MY T/CON, BUT I DIDN'T THINK THAT THE POWER GAIN AS LITTLE AS THE GIT-KIT OFFERS THAT I WOULD HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. ANY IDEAS?

Torque Convertor

What type of transmission fluid are you using?

How much power do you have?

If you are using the right transmission fluid and not a lot of power its the torque con. Use ATF 3 or ATF 4 I have had cust that used dextron and had torque con. shutter when we changed to ATF 3 the problem went away

Hope this helps

I'M NOT SURE WHAT TYPE OF FLUID WAS IN THE THING WHEN I BOUGHT THE TRUCK, BUT I DID CHANGE THE FILTER AND USED DEXRON 3 ABOUT TWO MONTHS AFTER I NOTICED THE "SHUDDER", I ALSO CHANGED THE FUEL FILTER, WHICH WAS A MOPAR FILTER HOPEFULLY IT WAS'NT THE ORIGINAL, AND IT SEEMED TO BE A LITTLE BETTER. I FIGURE THAT THE POWER WOULD BE RELATIVELY CLOSE TO THAT OF A BANKS STINGER KIT ABOUT 150 FT LBS MORE TORQUE AND ABOUT MAYBE 75-100 H/P

Please turn off the CAPS. How many miles are on your truck? I'd say your torque converter is slipping causing the shutter. Most of these automatics will eventually do it, and extra power will make them do it faster. Now's a great time to upgrade your transmission and torque coverter to one of the aftermarket units out there - do your research and ask for recommendations on each brand. I am happy with mine (see signature). Dextron is ok to use in these transmissions. The ATF-3 is required in some midget vans, so Chrysler just said to use it in all their stuff. Good luck.
