I've searched the forums for quite awhile and cannot find a part number for the lift pump. Mine crapped out tonight at 127k miles, and need to see if I can get one tomorrow. This is for an 03.

Well, if you don't already know, they switched to the in tank transfer pump now. The part number is 5179628AA for 34 gallon which would be Quad Cab SWB and 5179629AA for 35 gallon which would be Quad Cab LWB, Reg Cab SWB or LWB. Those numbers are for the complete kit to switch your from front mount to in tank mount. All wiring is included, etc, etc. The original transfer pump is no longer supplied by MOPAR.

If you wish you may go to any cummins distributor in your area with engine serial number in hand and get the original cummins part. A lot easier to replace. Any major heavy truck dealer as an example.

Cummins PN:3957923

You can also register with cummins quickserve at no charge with your engine SN: for access to parts and service manual

They switched to the tank mounted one for a reason. I am not goin to make an argument but there is a reason behind MOPARs insanity. Also it takes 3 hours to put the tank mounted pump in?

Daniel,

Try 3964848

That is the Cummins part number for the 2004. 5 lift pump that is mounted on the fuel filter housing.

That is the same as an 03 or 04 pump.

tank mount pump

I have a tank mount pump. It only puts out 7lbs at an idle. The other used to have 15lbs. When I floor it it goes to 1lb. I don't like it. The only good thing is I got it free under warranty. If you buy a tank mount it is about $600 so why not go with the FASS same price. I may add a Cummins pump and have my tank mount feed that if possible to get the psi back. It may last longer that way. Anyone think that is possible?

Lee :--)

I knew if I said something it would start an argument... ..... I'll just stay out of it I don't know anything I guess. I'm out.

I'm not starting an argument I just said it is low pressure and it don't seem right to me! The boys at Mopar know Hemi's but the Cummins is not there's. Everyone at Cummins said that was not enough pressure.

These are all new part numbers: All cummins part numbers

Lift pump: 4089602

"New" supply line: 3969705

Mine truck is a 04. 5 4X4 dually. The numbers JWilliams3 gave is the part # (Old) for my truck. If JWilliams3 numbers fit your truck, then these numbers should be OK for your truck.

Myself, I didn't want the intake fuel pump (still might be better) but at least I can change the fuel filter mounted pump. I got a spare (new part numbers) pump with fuel line in tool box.

Now, get yourself a seat:

(1) #4089602 pump $307. 02 (pump came out of Va. , I live in N. C. ) plus Va. sale and state tax, plus shipping and handling, Total price: $335. 12

(2)#3969705 supply line 16. 83 plus shipping (my local cummins dealer didn't have this either) Total price: $28. 71

Did someone say FASS in the future.

I appreciate the input Justin. I'll have a FASS on the way this week. With those lp prices, one is a fool not to run the FASS without filtration, $409. I'm going with the big boy.
