I have come to the conclusion that the lift pump is just not as high a quality part as the Cummins engine, to put it mildly. I am using a 41 gal bed tank for 60% of my fuel delievery above the pump for added head pressure. Also I have installed a set of very low to no restrictive flow, disposable, 20 micron large big rig Baldwin BF5813 H2o KO fuel filters between the tanks and the lift pump to protect the internal parts. I have a Westach 0-30 psig fuel pressure guage with a snubber installed on the lift pump outlet as per Geno's grease gun hoses etc. instructions to watch the show for diagnostics. I did put the sending unit on the fender well though, because I did not think that shaking the unit on the motor was a good idea. I use Marvel mystery oil as perscribed on the bottle in my fuel every fill up, to lubricate the whole pumping system. I installed a 9 pass fuel cooler in front of the A/C condenser to control the temperature on the return line to the tanks. The whole system is common for both tanks. I carry an extra new lift pump with me just in case. So far with 13k mi on the truck, 14 psig at idle either tank and 9-10 at full throttle. Yea! it's a shame that we have to put up with this crap! but I am trying every thing I can think of to put a band aid on a bad product. Thank's to Dodge, for not trying to satify customers and not building a quality product. Really this is absurd!:{

DUNNO that we can pin all this on DC - Cummins THEMSELVES use the SAME PUMP in their other, non-Dodge installations - and are going thru the same failures and LP upgrades... :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:
