I aquired a 99 2500 with 36k miles a few weeks ago. After reading the posts about the failing lift pumps I decided to test the pressure. Where can I find a pressure guage to test with and can someone give me some basic instructions as to where to test and what to look for?

Here is a picture of the fuel pressure gauge that I bought at the local parts house, screws right on to the test port. There is a plunger in the center that opens the schrader valve.
Attach to test port.
Bump starter, do not start engine, this starts the 30 sec cycle of lift pump and you should read pressure of 14 PSI.
If hose was longer could lay up on windshield and take for drive.
Every vendor seems to be backordered on the electric gauge so I bought this for my piece of mind.
Hope this helps,
