I just had the intank LP installed in my 02. The low fuel psi LED would lite under load, so I also had a pusher pump installed. The mechanic said that he is now seeing about 25psi at idle, and not under 18psi for WOT.

Now my question. I think I just heard that too much pressure is just as bad for a vp44 as no pressure. Am I in trouble here ?

Thanks

I think you're right but to be safe you might want to PM Brett Williams ( I think that's his name) from Industrial Injection Service. He posts all over the place here. If you feel ambitious you could search VP44 and weed thru the pile, I know I read something about high inlet presure damage to a diaphram inside moving too far and hitting somethig it's not supposed to when I was researching my Hot Rod VP44.

What pusher pump did you add "Trac"??? Am curious as I also am considering adding a pusher pump on my '02... and posted a similar post with the same question regarding over-pressure and the VP44.

If you determine your inlet pressure is too high, you could add an in-line ball valve and introduce an adjustable resistance and reduce the pressure to whatever you need.

It doesn't hit anything, it simply flexes the diaphragm (or piston) too far and that causes it too crack... the same thing happens running too little pressure... the new VP-44s supposedly have a thicker diaphragm to eliminate this...

Where are you pulling the pressure from?
