Dodge replace my injector pump uner warranty(87,000) two weeks ago and tech said lift pump was in specs. I removed a primeloc filter system because of a perceived fuel loss and resultant engine stumble using my TST box. This morning I installed two fuel pressure sending units (pre and post) on the stock filter head in my 99. After hooking up all wiring and mounting the pillar 3 gauge mount I got the following pressure readings: Idle-6. 5/6 (pre/post) 60-3. 5/3 accelerating 0-0 WOT -/- . Okay my lift pump is toast-does anyone have any idea what Dodge says specs are supposed to be? I need to do some arguing come Monday morning to have them replace lift pump. After they replace pump I plan on adding a booster pump. On I have the larger Banjo bolts installed. :(

It seems like it depends on the dealer. My lift pump was bad for quite awhile, but it had to get down closer to 0 before my dealer would say it was out of spec. I think they said below 8 at idle is bad. Some guys get their dealer to replace them if it's below 8 at any condition (like WOT). My dealer only uses the idle reading.

My guess is your pump has been bad for a long time, and it was probably the reason your injector pump went bad.

Mine was just replaced last week at 38,000 miles. I had taken it to the dealer at 34,000 miles and they told me that they would not replace it until it would not maintain 10 psi at idle. I told them see ya in a couple more miles.

I do not know if the spec is the same for your truck. Good luck.

Your call, but the Stealer is not going to replace it if reads 7 or above at idle..... you can fight them or just replace your self... . side note: when you replace it check and see if one of the top bolts is lose---if so--take it apart check it out and reassemble for a good spare..... for whats its worth... ... ... ..... R, J. B. ;)

My 99 Service manual states minimum at idle is 10psi. I had 11 at idle 70mph= 6-7 wot=4-5. Bought a new pump, washers and harness adapter from Cummins. Idle=15 70mph=13, wot=10. For the 150. 00 and the risk of something happening to the injector pump I did not think it was worth the hassle with 11psi at idle to go to the Dealer. After all it is not the Dealers or mechanic's truck sitting at the bay while I try to find other means of transportation.
