I took my '00 to the dealer to try and get the leaking vacuum pump fixed under warantee (unsucessful) but they told me they wanted to keep it because there was a recall on the feeder pump I think he called it? which I would think is the lift pump? Anybody else heard anything? did dodge finally do it?

I just came across the lift pump recall that was issued on 03/16/00. It is listed as Service Action #00-11 and only applies to 2000 and 2001 BR/BE Ram trucks with diesel engines with serial numbers between 56662576 and 56671920. Basically these trucks had a problem with the lift pump dieing after only 9000 miles. Dodge will replace the lift pump with the latest and greatest lift pump but don’t hold your breath that the new pump will last more than about 50K miles.

recall on 00 trucks

does not matter if it only lasts 50k if replaced under recall it is covered for life of the truck under current owner.

The "recall" of model year 2000 transfer pumps is not an NHTSA Safety Recall, but rather a D/C Customer Satisfaction Notice item (CSN 878). I doubt any lifetime warrantee will be extended to the approximately 12,000 Rams involved.

2000 recall

It is, I have had it done and was told and shown in paper work it is covered, also have recall info, but will have to find it.

The NHTSA site is not showing the transfer pump on the 2000 CTD as a safety recall item. If you have paperwork showing that a faulty transfer pump has resulted in an NHTSA safety recall, I imagine a lot of TDR members would be interested in seeing it.
