It was explained to me that the LP on my truck is not a "pusher" pump and therefore the not designed to be moved back on the frame. Is this bad information?

Pumps are normally better at pumping fluid, vs sucking it... otherwise, wouldn't then be called sucks? :-laf

Did this info come from a dealer?

HMMMmmm - the guy who gave THAT bit of bad info must be the same guy who keeps spreading the "Ford owns Cummins" rumor... :-laf

If moving the stock LP back to the frame is a bad idea, there are sure lots of us guy here living on borrowed time! ;) :D

Speaking of the un-informed. I called Carter's tech line (Federal mogule), and they guy there was completely stumped as to WHY I would put two pumps inline and with one being the 8 psi pump.

He went on to say that if I had the 13 psi stock pump on the frame, and the 8psi pump on the motor, the 8 psi pump wouldn't do anything by bypass all the fuel because it's over it's pressure limit. And then said that if I ran the 8 psi pump then the 13 psi pump, I would only be generating 13 psi because the internal bypass would keep it there.

Odd how I make 22 psi at idle with these two pumps ;)

He also said they 'specially built' the stock lift pump to handle the amount of lift it must provide. Funny, there really isn't anything different in the pump that I could see when I opened up the stock pump. Just another load of BS.

And this guy was supposed to be representing Carter! Sheesh!
