No difference with either pump. I canned my original and plan on getting a new pump, while using the one on the truck now as a spare. I'm getting down to 6-7 psi inlet. The outlet side reads 11 psi steady.
 
Just for what's it's worth, I'm at 16k and am on my 4th L. P. The last three were the "latest and greatest" p. n. pump and even had one with low press. (10#/idle - 5# W. O. T. ) right out of the box. Right now with winterized fuel (drops numbers a bit,) I,m at 14# idle, 10# at 65 mph, and 6-7 at W. O. T. I will wait until warmer weather to see if this unit holds up or not. When I had the pumps changed, the dealer was required to send the old ones back, so I couldn't see if your repair was applicable...
 
The screen in my second lift pump was/is immaculately clean. That's encouraging when you consider how dirty the filter gets from the fuel. Alan, what part of this procedure is actually supposed to be the fix? Rotating the shaft? Resetting the vanes? Re-seating the gasket? Or tightening down the bolts on the plate? As I was doing this (takes about 3 minutes) I was trying to figure out where exactly the improvement would come from? Anyway, I'm off to get a new lift pump... my third:rolleyes:



I'm going with a pusher setup this time. Time to BOMB a bit.

John, What I think is that the gasket is compressing causing loss of pressure. By turning the gasket over and retorquing the bolts, the pressure returns. I don't think the vanes or screen has anything to do with it unless the screen
