It also helps if you have arms 4 feet long. I swapped mine out a few years ago. I agree with the post above, make sure your kids and wife aren't around. I removed it from the bottom after removing the starter but had to install it from the top due to not enough reach to get the bolts started. The lever arm is spring loaded. It was a real pain trying to push the pump into the block, hold it there and start the bolts with one hand.
 
When you install it make sure that the cam lobe is on the low spot instead of the high spot. You CAN install it on the high spot, but it's a real fight. Remove the starter. If you have a 4X4 remove the front drive shaft.
 
I just did mine last weekend , it was a PIA, when you go back together dont put fuel line on to the fuel heater till you have it bolted up, makes it easier to install the assembly
