A few weeks ago Rob Spading posted about a lift pump replacement program initiated by Cummins for certain 12v trucks. Has anyone who replied to Rob's post and was subsequently contacted by Cummins via email had any further contact from Cummins?

I tried emailing the Cummins rep but I haven't gotten a reply.

Having been contacted by Cummins initially, after about 3 weeks I emailed them again and got the following reply:

August 2, 2000

Thanks for your follow up. I have forwarded the replies with details to the
person who is in-charge to decide on recalls and evaluation. He will probably contact you after doing research on all the engines. Thank you again---krishna

Have not heard a thing from them since.

At about 95,000 miles, my lift pump started leaking fuel from the rubber pump knob. The Dodge dealer replaced it under the Cummins 100k warranty, and put an upgraded part # on it. They said since my 97 was built (oct. 96) they had rervised the part # several times. Can't find the reciept or Id post the number. Anyway it was about a $190. 00 part and there was about 2 hrs labor, but warranty covered it... ... DDG

I have had the lift pump replaced twice on my 96- once at 40,000 and the last at 90,000. I had extended warranty. Had to have lift pump replaced on I-95 in Ga. at cummings dealer-could not get to Dodge. Sent them receipt(dodge) and got a check back 20 days later. Dealers could not give reason why lift pump was failing. Keeping fingers crossed this pump lasting 2 years now.

Radixr, I also have not heard back after the initial response. Who knows. I have never replaced mine and figured if they were going to give me a new one, that would be one less thing to go wrong. I'll keep waiting.

I just received an email from the Cummins rep that said they were studying the lift pump program and would reply to us as soon as possible.
