I'm trying to get a local dealer to replace my lift pump. I currently have about 10 lbs. at idle and 2 lbs. at WOT. Dealer had previously indicated these pressure were within spec. I informed dealer of the revised specs, available on Star Hotline. After about two weeks the dealer indicated the only information he could get still indicated 10 lbs. at idle were within spec. Dealer said he would replace pump if he could obtain any information from Dodge indicating the lift pump needed replacement. Is ther anything more specific I can tell them about the current, revised specs?

You might want to send a PM to Mopars1. He is the one who posted the latest lift pump specs per the STAR hotline. Maybe he can give you some tips or advise on what to tell your service manager. Mopars1 said the revised spec are not in a TSB and STAR is just telling dealers who call in what the latest spec is, so maybe the hang-up is because it's not "in writing".

Did your service manager check your lift pump pressures to verify your readings and DID HE ACTUALLY CALL STAR-hotline?? Sounds like maybe he is to arrogant to call 'em up to find out he is wrong.

Your numbers should not be a problem, as long as you have a number above "0" your VP44 is getting the flow it needs. Even if your lift pump dies it is a good test of your VP44 to see if you have a good one, as long as you are still under warranty :D JMHO.

Fuel Pressure

The Shop Manual (2001 model) that you can order from the back of your owners manual says " the fuel pressure on the output side of the lift pump should NEVER be less than 10 psi"

I just had mine replaced and my dealer had not one problems with specs. It was a STAR part and required them to send the test results in before new pump was released.

New pump doesn't give me any less than 13 PSI

I am happy now.
