I have about one week left on the warranty, and the truck was a little doggy, so I took it in. I measured the lift pump pressure at 7psi at idle and 4 psi under a load. The truck showed a 0234 code, which I believe is a high boost code. I have a bully dog 2 chip and replaced the elbow, so I know why the high boost code is there. The solution by the dealer is I need a new turbo, but they would not even consider a volume test on the lift pump. I also have a bit of oil on the front of the engine, I believe related to the breather. I told them about the TSB for that issue, again they didn't know what I was talking about. My question is, how do I get them to check the lift pump? or what are the volume specs so I can do it and get them to replace it? BTW I removed the chip and replaced the elbow to stock when I brought it in, I know the turbo is not the issue. Thanks in advance for your help

Pete, it will cost you 100. 00 to have the dealer do the diagnostic. Go ahead and spend the money for a new LP for about 150. 00/w shipping. Your warranty is up and maint. is in your court. My first Lp went at 82k and I asked the dealer to check it while doing the clock spring recall..... 100 my but..... The learning curve starts here. They get easy to change with experience. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Mike

Pete - let them replace the turbo - it's FREE - yes? then get a real fuel delivery system instead of letting them replace the stock Carter POS with their in-tank POS answer. Only thing to consider is if the VP goes out within the next few days - hum - I'd let them replace the turbo, tell them the next day that the turbo replacement didn't fix the sluggishness and you think it's in the fuel delivery . . . you may get a new VP and Turbo???
