Do any of you know off hand the volume the lift pump is to provide the high pressure pump... . I've read that about 11. 5 lbs - 14 lbs at idle, but there must be an acceptable flow rate.....

I've read that several suppliers of "add on" booster pumps are talking about 140 gph, but that seems a lot for a stock engine at WOT...

What is the correct spec... .

Thanks

Specification for 2003 trucks is 38 GPH... but are you talking about the spec for your 2001 truck? If so, you've got the wrong forum.

But one of the best threads ever written for the 2nd gen fuel delivery system is here

Just got my 04 w/90K back..... Had lift pump & HP pump failure, the said the lift pump failure resulted in hp pump failure from lack of fuel.

So i'm going to upgrade all my trucks with boost pumps..... They all pull about 80% of the time... BTW- it pulled fine with a load at WOT, but stumbled at idle and off idle as you pulled away from a stop... . They tell me the low pressure at WOT didn't leave enough extra to prevent damage and the bypass side of the HP pump failed which caused the idle problem.

D/C or dealer paid the bill to fix the 04 but it must not be any better than the earlier ones. I'd like to say more but had surgery Monday and using a key board with one hand is tough when its the wrong hand.

If any one has other suggestions, I'm open for comments...

Yikes... hope your recovery goes fast!

I am also in the process of replacing my fuel delivery system in order to prevent a CP-3 failure. You can read about my idea here. (Been awhile since I updated that thread, but I am working on the project).
