Perfect timing. I'm driving right past my dealer tomorrow. Looks like I might be getting my $100 back.
They said that there was no deduct if you're under the 5/100K warranty but when they changed to the 7/100K there is a deduct. I didn't know enough about the topic to argue so I dropped it. Time to go read my info packet.
Edit: This is copied straight out of my "Warranty info" book.

B. What's Covered
---In vehicles equipped with a Cummins Diesel Engine, ONLY the following parts and components are covered by the Cummins Diesel Engine Limited Warranty:
cylinder block and all internal parts
cylinder head assemblies
core plugs
fuel injection pump and injectors
gaskets and seals for listed components
intake and exhaust manifold
oil pan
oil pump
timing gear drive belts and/or chains and cover
turbocharger housing and internal parts
valve covers
water pump and housing
A $100 deductible per repair visit applies after your truck has been in use for 5 years, regardless of mileage.
End Quote.
Note it doesn't say anything about the lift pump, only injector pump. So I continued on to page 27 where is says...
B. Parts Covered for 5 Years or 100,000 Miles
Diesel equipped heavy duty trucks, as described in 5. 3(A), have a separate diesel engine Emission Warranty which covers the following items for 5 years or 100,000 miles. These limits are counted from the time when your Basic Limited Warranty begins under 2. 1 (E). The covered parts are:
exhaust manifold
fuel injection system
injector
intake manifold, and
turbocharger
So, is the LP part of the "fuel injection system"? No deduct on these parts.
Anybody else go read their book and find anything else that might help? I kinda sped thru it and may have missed something
