Don, Thanks veyr much for the heads up on this kit. I got one for the good price at the local heavy truck dealer. You are an example of the good that the TDR does for folks here.

Thanks Again!

Chris,

Just got the Fass pump installed, the shop I had install it left the original equip. in place, capped the lines and unplugged the oem pump, if the Fass goes down, just unhook the supply and discharge, reattach the OEM lines, plug in the power, run till you get diesel to the discharge end, tighten and go.

Yep, that's how I did mine. IF my FASS ever dies, I have the crappy stock lp for backup.

Anyone have a line on where I can order one? Everyplace I call says to go to the LOCAL Cummins supplier, who wants $220
You got too many posts for the cheap price. :-laf

how many people from here have actually gotten and installed this kit?

Gotten, but waiting for vulcan bigline re-loc kit to install.

From the outer appearance, I gotta wonder whats different inside. Still worry if its the same ole stuff, but for less than half price its worth the gamble.

The instructions are enough to make me sick. "... . due to a possible problem with the fuel lift pump. Cummins, Inc has determined that a small percentage of these engines may experience a stall condition. " Really?

They aslo state a range of orig. and recon VP pumps must be replaced under this campaign. Not encouraging, but I dont want a stock replacement anyway. 'course, if they now my pump is about to die, why not replace it right along with the busses and emergency stuff this campaign is for?

On the plus side, the included pressure switch could be handy for a low psi warnig LED :p

Thanks for the heads-up, though. Heck of a deal for a stock style LP.

There are several (12) Cummins Brdgeway locations in MI, OH, and Pitsburg, and here in columbus they sold the kit for ~$65 + tax, no questions asked. Plus spend $50 or more and get a free hat! Oo.

This deal is begining to turn from the latest & greatest to a half price deal on a new LP. Didnt some one (don?) post some improved results from this pump though?

Lift Pump Info

New kid on the block and first post. Just received Geno's new catalog #51 and they have a Vulcan Performance Transfer Pump Relocation Kit for the good price of $ 69. 00

Allow me the privilege of being the first to welcome you to the TDR.

The Vulcan products seem to be exceptional. My Vulcan relocation kit/full big line kit should be arriving in a week or so.

The Geno's Kit is 3/8 and it is from the relocated LP to the filter only. If you order direct from Vulcan you get 1/2" and it goes all the way to the IP. Cost $30 more for the 1/2" kit.

Have any of you guys heard of the Walbro pump? I've got one on my third gen and know of others who have installed them on second gen trucks. They work great, are way overkill as they are "capable" of 100psi and are just over a hundred bucks. In our Cummins application they would be working at just 25% of their duty cycle. Should last a very, very long time. I can't believe some of you guys are on your 6th or 7th stock pump... . Don't you think it's time to try something different???? :--)

btw- I'm seeing 23psi at idle, 20-22psi at 65mph and can only draw it down to 12psi at WOT. :D
