On the 04 models, the lift pump on the motor is waranteed,( after 36k ) under the 100k motor warantee, with $100. deductable. And the replacement is a in tank pump. RIGHT?? Is this correct.

My second question is, Is this ( in tank pump ) waranteed under the 100k motor warantee ??

My third question is ,on a 06 where the lift pump is in tank from factory is the lift pump waranteed under motor warantee after 36k miles.

I have an 04 that was covered under warranty... . but at the time the truck had over 36K and under 100K... they replaced the fuel pump and injection pump... the lack of fuel from the bad fuel pump did damage to the injection pump from lack of lubrication. It was covered 100%... .

At the time, the in tank modification was not available... . later, the pump failed again... . this time it was over 100K and we went down and purchased the In Tank Unit... . and installed it... . and its been fine for the last 150K miles... .

I also own a 04. 5 & 05, and it came with the In Tank Unit... . these trucks has been fine... so I can't tell you the extent of the warranty coverage... however I expect that its only the 36K miles...

Because of the problems with dealers telling us that the damage to the injection pumps is from bad fuel, we have installed a large 10 micron filter and a second stage 2 micron filter under the cab of the trucks... we use this set of filters on a 10L Cat, our 6. 7L Cummins and our 5. 9L Cummins engines... .

Yes, you are correct about the in tank lift pump being the replacement for a failed engine mounted pump. That's if you take it to Dodge. You can get a factory replacement engine mount lift pump from Geno's for about $179. The Geno's kit also comes with a filter (10 micron??) that you can install in the fuel line between the lift pump and the tank. I believe that the in tank pumps were introduced with the 04. 5's. I can't really speak to your warrant questions.

My 2004. 5 came with an engine mounted lift pump. It was replaced before 36k miles with an in-tank pump. My local Dodge service mgr. did that for me under warranty. Thanks Roy. . :)
