lift pump

So can I purchase a lift pump from anyone other than Cummins? Or are they the only supplier of stock pumps? Thanks

I know that Jegs and Summit Racing also carry Carter pumps,. but I'd get the latest and greatest from Cummins as the pump has been revised a few times and the others may have old stock in their inventory. Do search and find out which part number you need, then call Cummins for the latest model. I'd relocate it back by the tank with a pre-filter or add a pusher pump ( again, with a pre-filter) if you want to stick with the Carter pump.

It all depends on whether you have a 12 or 24 valve truck. You need to include a signature or more info for a good answer.

Sorry, 1998 24 valve. thinking about putting on a pressure gauge to see what the original pump is doing. It sounds complicated to install a pusher back by the tank. I wish they would up date the original to last many K's. Thanks guys. Al
